I know he is the challenger player here and Im just a master 0lp player but I really dont understand how he cant like the deathblade spell crit items on academy? These are like the best you can get after archangel+infinity edge problably. Can someone explain this to me?

I think 1 part of it is that jg isn't good on ezreal, and usually he's your carry and it can be a while til you get heimer, so a jg vs, say, an academy guardbreaker is worse early-mid. Then JG isn't so good on heimer because he doesn't get ap from traits, it kinda worked this game tho since he ended up having so many rods he made dcap. And then DB is kinda a mid item in general, it just got buffed a bit today. But yeah, compared to more flexibile items like guardbreaker or utility items like red buff or even shiv, these academy items are probably less useful on avg, but worked out this game

@@ProtossChad Exactly I don't think he really won because of the academy items, he won because he was basically completely uncontested so he hit all his upgrades relatively easily(apart from the Jayce ig)

they just not very strong items in general JG wants a lot of ap and usually a mana item to be useful and DB usually needs atkspeed, vow isn't a strong tank item its usually reserved for units that you want to cast faster and the sents all have channel abilities so you dont get much use out of the extra mana there's just more useful free items from the trait

@@ProtossChad This actually changes my whole approach to it, whenever I see items like these that are good on heimer and jayce I just force myself in to sentinel academy because I know it will be an high cap board with jayce 2 and usually I end up going bot 4 because I didnt find jayce 2 (I went first like 3-4 times because I did get the jayce 2 though). But items that are good to use in mid game makes sense, since if you lose a lot of hp early you might end up forced to roll at 8 or just die to some random chem baron or a reroll comp that is capped already

before patch it gave the atk speed on revive as well so there was no reason to backline it. now they bugfixed it, so you have to decide more carefully now. think frontline is still usually better
