My theory regarding this SCP is that it is omnipresent, it exists across all universes and connects all universes. The beings that emerge from the pool are creatures that the pool encounters in other universes and recreates them to serve its own purposes. The audio log in my opinion, is a log from another SCP Foundation from another universe. As the team crossed the dimensional threshold that separates their universe from the red planet they tried to transmit the data they had until in case they didn’t make it back. Because they use similar technology despite being from different universes our universe’s SCP Foundation received the transmission by mistake. The pool itself serves as a gateway, but it is also sentient, which is why a lot of the interviews suggest the pool has a will of its own.

There is a similar SCP done by Volgun that reminds me of this. "No Vacancy" and it is an extra-dimensional SCP that ONLY messes with SCP personnel, not local civvies. (that we know of) And it always targets one Person at a time, catching them on the freeway and looping them to EVENTUALLY pull off to a very specific motel, you just keep passing the same one over and over again till you pull off due to sleepiness The thing I adore about the SCP is it reads more like a "how to survive" tutorial, than a contained SCP, which it indeed is not, and quite literally everyone who's ever gone into the motel armed, never came out again, so its now a "keeping your wits" survival horror of the worst kind..... It is also a world explorer as most of the advice and tips are "If you see this, do this." as no two runs are ever exactly the same. The dossier is built off a "growing" number of people who survived, and quite a few who had a recording device linked to them in their car in the parking lot, which is the only thing ever found of those who fail to leave.

Part of what makes this SCP so interesting is that, when shit hits the fan during the mission log, we don't see it. We see the aftermath. Day 25 is us arriving at the wall and burning through it. Then, after corrupted data, we're suddenly at the end of day 38. A whole 13 DAYS OF DATA LOST! And they need to get back NOW! It plays off of your want to know more, and in some cases, the fear of the unknown. And the worst part? That whole mission might have just been a creation of the pool itself.
@dr.arielfinch43163 ай бұрын
This one gets incredibly horrifying when you realize that at the end, the guy keeps insisting the pool is growing very slowly, and if it keeps doing that, red water could potentially evaporate and collect into the atmosphere. What happens next is supposed at in an EAS scenario video: *EAS Scenario | SCP-354 The Red Pool | Alert Containment Breach* Non-canon to the SCP itself, but it gives a good idea as to how the growth of the pool and its consequences could be handled. Also yes, 'Able' is Abel. As in *_Cain and Abel._*

its possible that its not that the pool somehow erased the records of the exploration team, but rather the exploration team are from a different universe entirely, suggesting the pool extends to MULTIPLE realities. I could be wrong of course. The fact the it could jsut make everyone PSYCHICALLY SCARED to the point of dessertion does imply it can affect minds so it MIGHT be capable of erasing memories of the exploration team if they are native to this world.
@Neutral_Tired3 ай бұрын
A couple of notes: I think the redacted creature that emerged from the pool is still alive and may have joined the SCP team. At the very least, I think it's the redacted SCP they wanted to bring with them in the drill/sub. It seems like the exploration team found a 2nd barrier in the black grass area, got through, then McArthur was hurt by something that lead them to decide going through was a mistake, so they turned back through the 2nd barrier, which is where the log picks up on day 39.

So, does this mean that this scp is more like a portal to one specific dimension? But to go back through it, it isn’t a dimensional portal set between only are dimensions, but anchored in one, connected to infinite. So the crew came back, probably died on the way back, this data was that was recovered. This data is from a different reality parallel to our own, to another world with their own SCP foundation, who decided to go through with testing. Maybe a reference to the games, with the whole containment breach statement. Not entirely sure what the coffee would of been referencing.
@-Offstar3 ай бұрын
So SCP-354 is a bridge between universes or plains of existence it connects an unknown number of them together through that world they went to in the mission. And in many universes there is a Earth with a SCP Foundation. What happened wasn't that they sent a mission and all the information regarding the people was erased from their database. Instead what happened was another SCP Foundation in a different universe sent a mission through their pool and the logs from that mission was broadcast into their database. The pool is sentient and wants to expand and grow which is why it kept sending stuff through, the SCP Foundation was attempting to contain it which limited it's growth so it sent more and more dangerous things through to free itself. As for what it's purpose and intent is is unknown. All we know is it wants to grow, and will do whatever it takes to grow.

2-999 was 2007-2011 Also do 3241. It's a fun bit of writing poking at a constant issue scp writers have had over the years.

My comment for the algorithm is this: I am sorry for recommending Anantashesha, but i'm glad you're still enjoying the SCP universe.
