@@rohansingh8444 Dont think youve read my post or even making a sensible argument. African countries like Botswana have smaller population density on top, which makes way for cleaner and spacier environment which isnt possible in densely populated Indian cities (largely due to extremely small industrial areas in India). Having a larger economy doesnt matter when the size of the population is even more humongously large. Many 'smaller' countries have much higher per capita income than India. And the reason is that they industrialized and moved away from an agricultural based economy (which India utterly failed to do in the last 70 years of red tape beurocratic socialist hell).

Problem with Abhijit and to some extent Kushal is that they LACKS LIVED IN EXPERIENCE in India. They don't know what was life of an average Indian up until early 2000s. They were Born with Television, Car, Air Conditioning, Washing Machine, Refrigerator, Gas Connection, Telephone Connection in their home. Which is not the case with most of India's population. They have to wait until mid 2000s to get these amenities.

Always, india is about having great potential but not being able to realize the potential Indian IT sector and ISRO have disproved this myth. So there are still great learnings from these sectors and see if those successes can be replicated in other places with right policies and privitization of non performing government workforces

Everyone's busy having orgasm over dreams of India becoming a global power in somr xyz years. No cross questioning, everyone is thumping back of another. Anyway, our 3 tier nuclear program is stuck since 2014. Back in 2014-15 I remember they said 3rd stage has gone into experimental phase, then 3-4 years back they said it was successful. And since then there's absolutely ZERO news about it.

Everything else is fine but this increasing fuel price to push for EVs is just too much. High fuel prices cause havoc in terms of inflation. All the sectors get hit adversely. So I don't think it was deliberate because even the other sources of revenue had shrunk and expenditure increased a lot. Also if this was deliberately done, the person suggesting such shit should be sacked.
@vamsikrishna3855
@vamsikrishna3855 Жыл бұрын
No. The fuel taxes are much more to what we see. 1. World has seen so much volatility in oil market that at one time during covid or even before it went below $40 to $100 in few years. It’s better for governments to tax it higher and when prices fall then reduce the price a little bit. Rather if you put oil prices exactly at market level, people will cry every time oil prices rise in international market. This is an Indian disease, blame government when prices rise and sit and quietly enjoy when prices fall. 2. Government has used oil revenues extensively on infrastructures and especially road building. Even a decade back, India’s road density was as worse as sub Saharan Africa and only in the last decade that it has started to become better. 3. Toll taxes are the most political hot potato that nobody wants to deal with. It is cheaper to have toll taxes but given the political nature, governments rather tax oil and get revenues for infrastructure. 4. Because oil taxes are reasonably less political, nearly all other infrastructure (rail, ports, airways ) are funded through energy taxes. 5. Incentivizing other sectors of economy like work from home or digital or e-commerce((gig sector llike swiggy hwhen you don’t have to physically move to get items. 6. Finally a push to EVs can only be done by disincentivizing fissile based vehicles and even initial EV subsidies can be funded from oil taxes.

It's a Keynes method of price control to stabilize the markets. Do I agree with it, maybe a bit, as I fall towards Hayek's policy suggestions. But then again, you won't get votes with Hayek; only Keynes's suggestions help you to get votes. Rest is well explained by the previous comment.

Urban Planning is a state issue not a central issue. First Step of Urban Planning should be designation of Block and Panchayat headquarters as URBAN AREAS which would increase the quality of life there.
