not only was this the first time he performed the album, it was the first time ANY member of bts performed a full event of their own solo material alone on stage in the band's 9 year career at the time. jack in the box was also the first official solo album release by a bts member to begin with (long story there--but the previous releases were mixtapes). j-hope was incredibly anxious about it, to the point he wouldn't sleep at night during preparations. that's the reason j-hope introduced himself as "jay" & addressed army like a minority in his lil introduction. he was so convinced the crowd would be dominated by people unfamiliar with him as an individual, or even bts as a whole, that he planned the show & that nickname to make it more palatable to a strange crowd. it was to the point that he was joking backstage about "what if i walk out and no one's there?" (he has a documentary about this performance out on disney+ where you can see this (+ him meeting j.cole 😭)). also, fun fact: another member of bts, jimin, surprised him by flying out to see the show. j-hope said that he wasn't able to eat or sleep until jimin showed up, & jimin couldn't stop gushing over how amazing j-hope was. the whole livestream they did together after the show was just a heartwarming/wholesome feedback loop lol

Biggest crowd in the history of Lollapalooza. This is my favorite solo artist concert of all time. I struggle for words to describe how much I love him, his music his dancing, & his entire performances. “What If?” from JITB is an absolute lightning bolt of a song, & he absolutely kills it here. I was there! Flew in the night before without a ticket and somehow made it pretty close to the front. The energy was amazing!! 10000000x more than you can get from a video. Hobi did an amazing job! I'm so proud of him 💜

I was there I was so proud and army was super nice and J-Hope killed it. I rewatch videos every month from that time. Will never forget how J-Hope has changed my impression. I’ll never put him in a box again. Also army learned fanchants in only a couple weeks before the festival

(01:57) it's BTS's official lightstick called ARMY Bomb. In the app you can switch colors yourself. However if you are in a concert you just put 'concert mode' and connect it to your seat so the lighting staff can control it. I'm assuming that BigHit was not in charge of the lights on Hobipallooza so that's probably why they didn't controlled the ARMY Bombs (That's just my theory, someone might know better lol) I hope you can understand everything😅. I've seen this tens of times already and I wasn't planning on watching it now but here I'm after waching the whole vid... you can not skip sth like this. Like you said he is CRAZY! his stage presence is outta this world. He is one of the few artist that are great live I'm not exaggerating when I say he is on MJ level when it comes to performing not as famous ofc but HE IS THAT GOOD of a performer! And he was the one singing during EqualSign perf too .. crazy isn't he? A phenomenal rapper with one of the best flow games on the industry, an amazing award-wining dancer even long before joining bts, AND a great vocalist too .. not to mention his writing, producing , and choreographing skills and the list even goes on.. wait now I'm impressed! lol I have so much respect for this man both as a human being and an artist. there is noway anyone would see this performance and question his artistry, musicality, or even his skills. He IS crazy good and it shows clear as day. He even got J.Cole's respect and that alone is sth to be proud of.. I enjoyed watching this again with you thank you man

Those are the official BTS light sticks called ARMY bombs. They have blue tooth connection so you can enter your seat number via your mobile phone and the BTS tech team can control them and make them change colour to spell out words like BTS or ARMY etc.

Kpop groups have lyrics on screen because its policy .. it makes sense cause when u have 20 songs and u have choreo , u can easily make mistakes and to ensure that the show runs smoothly and professionally , the lyrics and even their greetings etc is all curated .. jhope had 100% input in this show . Everything u see is his vision . The company however must consent cause it is at the end of the day , business and reputation but bts does have allot of input except for their outfits lol . Most kpop groups have no input in their shows but bts earned the right to have some say .. they don’t hve 100% control but they have significant input because they also very creative. Jhope is also one of bts choreographers and he is good at directing..

Glad that you love the concert because I have watched it many times and still give me goosebumps. The only versatile Korean artist that I’ve seen is jhope as he produces, and compose most of his music. He is a dancer mainly but he can also sing and rap. If true talent, creativity, artistry , and passion to the craft is to be considered j-hope will always be no.1 in my list.

This is why BTS is so big each one of its members is a writer producer performer musical genius. BTS is at the cutting edge of genre crossing creative experimentation. But you need the lyrical explaination for their songs because take Ddaeng which Hobi was a co producer. The word DDAENG has at least 7 meanings and context. As well as being as catchy as.

This is such a over exaggerated claim. Only three are song writers and producers. Just because some of them tweaked a few words in the song does not make them songwriters. This is the reason why army are so offended when you say one is better since they could not accept one is indeed better. Jimin could never sing live. He always mess up. ALWAYS! So no not all are on the same level. Bts is better than other kpop groups but within bts j-hope is for sure the most talented who could do it all! Jk is not the real ace. He is lazy and not creative enough. The problem with the fandom Is that they have invested too much on their faves and could never accept they were sleeping and wrong with j-hope who they boxed in. Chapter 2 has really showed how j-hope could shine on his own!

I do not measure praise out like a miser. Why would I? It's easy to forget how many boundaries they have pushed back, how many horizons they pushed out...because what they pioneered has now become industry standard. Plus let us be real what work exists without influences and collaboration? Well I am sure when people are just starting off maybe there is not enough interest to attract quality collaboration. So I think this...celebrating someone's achievements makes me feel good. Criticising someone makes me feel small. I would sooner err on the side of generosity of spirit.

I was there and the energy was electrifying. Most of us had waited at that stage all day to see him. He's an amazing performer. We only had a couple days to learn the lyrics to his songs on Jack in the Box as it was a new album. The lights that you see us holding are called Army Bombs. They are bts' official lightsticks and we take them nearly any time they'll be performing. At concerts, they sync to the music via bluetooth and change with the music. Have you filmed the other half of the performance yet? If not I reccomend that you continue with a version with subtitles. The first link has like 1 more song then you can go to part 2 (second link). Just discovered your channel and binge-watched your BTS member reactions. Loving them so far and so pleased you are loving J Hope and have seen Agust D (Suga). The lights they have in the audience are common in KPop, each group has their own shaped one. BTS have the ARMY bomb. They are Bluetooth controlled at concerts by seat position so they can give amazing light shows. You will come to realise that all 7 members of BTS are equally talented and versatile, very different from each other but blend so well too. Can't wait for you to discover the rest of them. It can seem overwhelming the amount of content but ARMY will help guide you based on hints of what you enjoy. 50 year old ARMY from UK.

Also, just wanted to say that i don't recommend using auto generated captions they're almost always wrong so not only they distract the viewer but also mistranslate lol If you want captions for the part 2 you can find the whole hobipalooza subbed and uploaded by Enjoy BTS More channel. This channel is pretty famous for providing correct translations for bts live stages.

The answer to the question you asked in the 28th minute; J-Hope sings by himself, no backing vocals. J-Hope is mainly a rapper but also a vocalist. You can hear BTS sing in some of their songs for example Make it Right, Spring Day etc.

Hola, su album *jack in the box* lo mostró el 15 de julio del 2022 y en lollapalooza se presentó el 31 de julio del 2022, solo tuvo unos días para preparar su performance, por eso es muy valorado, por que lo dio todo en el escenario. Tuvo la valentía de presentarse aun y cuando su album había salido dias antes y era su primer concierto como solista, y fue la primera vez en la historia de lollapalooza en agotar los boletos con más de 100.000 personas todos los chicos de BTS están haciendo historia como solistas ya que regresaran como grupo en 2025. Por su servicio militar obligatorio en Corea de hecho JHOPE ya entro al servicio y no lo veremos hasta finales de 2024

If you think Jhope is surprising you every time, I can guarantee you, it's the same with every member of BTS. BTS as a group has explored sooo many different genres of music and individually their solo songs/mixtapes and albums also have very different flavours. You can see their personalities and taste shine through and it's never it's always a blend. There is a reason why BTS became the biggest boy band on the planet right now. You gotta check out more of their music!
