@@moreno2880 fr, I generally just assume if someone is better than me that they just put in the Time (and directed effort) in practice, to get gud. And I could make the decision to do the same and if it don't then I don't want to be that good. I don't mind being gold, I have other stuff in my life and Im happy that I'm this good haha, Ive only put in the time in one game... Rocket league, felt so good to hit GC... Then I was burnt.

100% agree with the first part of the vid. Specially decision making. I believe that is the one major thing that halts everyone's grind the most in games. I usually get to diamond+ in whatever game I'm playing but watching ppl making silly mistakes consistently at that level is very frustrating

I remember the moment in OW where I realized I had been focusing too much on aim and not everything else. I turned it into a phrase: "I need to be a better gamer, not a better aimer"

The point he makes of coaching is really good. I'm learning the game as Pharah with an ex-top 500 support main and he's not just carrying me because he's good he's also giving lots of general tips in-between our matches that I can apply to all my later matches to make better decisions and plays. I agree with the opening clip. I am a huge gamer since early childhood, also been high ranks in a lot of games ive played, challenger league, predator apex, diamond rs6 (back when diamond was the top). I dont think im necessarily super talented but in terms of gaming I pick up things a lot faster and can learn the important things since I just recognize what the important things are a lot faster because of sheer experience with competitive games, then there is also the micro side of things and I know my ways around controllers and keyboards. Started playing ow2, 60 hours in im now plat 3 and while thats not impressive, it is still probably above average tier development, not because I have a gamer gene but because im a gamer. There is talent involved I think but it is mostly regarding one's ability to recognize important gameplay mechanics and how to improve upon them, instead of just magically being super good at the game, and thats a "talent" which is highly improvable.

If Korea (or yeah, literally anywhere else) is an option, that's pretty neat

Talent much like time is a human construct, it takes a critical thinker to wrap their minds around the fact that their is a pattern that has led to a person success!! The sad truth is that some people either lack the capacity to understand this or are so indoctrinated to the notion that they are just less than.

Yup I played games my whole life and am able to instantly pick up games and be better than my friends and it takes them a lot of grinding to get better than me just playing for a few hours

Just going to let people know, places like Korea are probably okay to get procedures done since it’s a wealthy country, but be VERY wary of poorer countries like Mexico that offer them. You get what you pay for, always remember that. It depends on whoever the doctor is, naturally, but there are cases of procedures being done incorrectly from inexperienced doctors. So, make sure you do your due diligence in who you pick. Poorer countries can be good alternatives, but at least in the US the quality of care is almost always guaranteed.

Part of the reason Dental is so expensive in the US is most reputable dentist offices use the most expensive, longer lasting materials. You need to be careful about getting dental work done in other countries that might not have regulations and such. That being said if you do your research and it checks out go for it.

Talents definitely a thing if people are born naturally better at running, swimming, fighting, etc. etc. So I imagine theres certain people who will just naturally be better at video games than other people. However that doesnt mean you cant be as good as a person with talent it just means you will have to work harder than the person with talent. Also talented people tend to be lazy.
@xanyo11712 жыл бұрын
I mean I started overwatch 2 weeks ago and I’m already plat. I believe that talent has some sort to do with it because I’m really good at most games coming from masters apex and immortal val. But I get what u are saying like I learned things in those games that help with OW and aim is a big play as well which I have already gotten good at from past games
@vishvaraj98632 жыл бұрын
Adding on to what he said. I sucked at fortnite at first cause that was my first actual game. But when I translated to apex, I didn't need to go through that entire process again. All I had to do was understand the game a little and boom diamond 2. Then I went to valorant, sucked for the first couple months and slowly got better to the point that I am at. And now, Overwatch 2. I really just do nothing but depend on my flicks and would say I am better than a lot of people at flicking. But it's not cause talent. It's because I have had a flick aiming style from the day fortnite made shotguns your primary close range weapon. So I am not gifted, I am just a good aim guy who needs to learn basic game knowledge and I am set.

Since people are totally different in physical terms, there are also people that have brains, cells and muscles that are just better designed for certain tasks (climbing, soccer, gaming, etc.) people with these benifits are called talented people. Their skill limit is higher than a normal person could physically reach. However: Even if u are a pro player, it does not automaticly makes you a talented person, but "talent" is a real thing that exists. 🤓

I kinda prefer not to follow rules / coaching and just take dumb risks sometimes see where it goes. seems more fun that way. Back in my CS days I used to just use knife only and just run as fast as I can reach without them suspecting anyone to be in those places. Usually people will have a set palce to setup and just spam stuff until numbers dwindle (eg inferno, dust/etc) and I would just go on a knifing spree, sure I die sometimes I would die without getting a kill, but was still fun.

disclaimer: medical procedures in the US are not a scam lmao. Wanted is just getting scammed obv cause he thinks $6k for 2 root canals is the normal price here, I could go down the street and find a dentist for $500ea or less lol. Besides dental work, general medicine in the US is the best in the world which is why people literally come here for procedures from outside the country. Sure some more specialized procedures will be expensive but that's due to it being the best. Dental work is not "specialized" and is very much routine and almost "assembly line" levels of affordable and simple. Seeking medical treatment outside of the US as a US citizen is not very smart considering you're already in the best place for medical treatment, not even taking into account liability issues abroad if something were to go wrong etc, you'd just be SOL.

I disagree. There is such a thing as talent. Some people are just more inclined to learn things more quickly than others. Just look at school. I had to get all kinds of help to keep my grades up in college. My roommate at the time was a stoner who barely even studied but somehow aced every single exam. He was just fundamentally good at picking things up quickly and efficiently learn what’s necessary for problem solving.

I would think, your initial success in a game depends on the genre of the ones you played prior. League, Smite, Dota. They're all different games but they are Mobas. The abilities and items are different, but at the end of the day your end goal is to destroy the enemy team's core or titan. Team composition is also similar.

I love the topic of talent because generally I don't believe in it either. Aptitude is a better word, but even then its not fixed or inborn. I'm no pro at games, I've never tried to be either, but I have been playing since I was a child and when you compare my natural game sense in almost any game vs my friend who first started playing games regularly at around 16/17, you just see a difference. There's a lot of cross over. Heck, even my practice on OW made me better in other FPS like COD which about 7 years ago when I last played I was dog shit at. There's a really good story of a many who didn't believe in talent, with his wife who was a teacher they had 3 daughters and from a young age immediately introduced them to chess. All 3 of them became pros, one so amazing that she was beating people at 5 years old. It's only 1 family but really interesting. gcpawards.com/blog/laszlo-polgar-the-man-who-raised-three-child-prodigies
