Phillip, your guide should have told you that the reason the Demerara river was so narrow in linden is because you were close to the source, the further up river you go the narrower it becomes up to a point where it's like a little stream, it flows for 215 miles north until it reaches Georgetown where it is much wider and empties into the Atlantic.

When we went to Guyana on vacation, we visited my Dad's sister and her family who lived in Mackenzie. I didn't know anything about the mining town or the history and why the town changed its name to Linden. Thanks for the information, Philip. I still have cousins living in Linden. The clouds in the sky 13:56 are beautiful.

This is absolutely disgusting to watch this. This meat should be in a temperature designated place. All the flies flying on the meat and laying their eggs. The zinc where she has the meat is unhealthy, all the walls. Why isn’t the Government doing something about this condition. What is the Minister of Agriculture doing? I hope this vendor see this comment and do something about her meat booth. Philip next time you go back there please share my view with these vendors. If I had to bring my boys there it would be for the wild life not the foods and the city. Since there were younger they never had the urged to see where I was born. There are in their late thirties and early forties and they told me they will visit one day but not now. The eldest is a top manager at Exon and one of his work mates was down there to checked the pipeline etc and they were robbed. Theives went into their aircraft and stole all the alcoholic beverages. So that in itself has turned both of them off. This young girl speak excellent English. You know Philip I bought a new iPad and the old one has all the info you gave to me.
