They sometimes darken the episode to prevent triggering epilepsy in viewers, but this adjustment is removed in the Blu-ray version, i think its because of a relatively new law in Japan.

ayo? did i get here first? siiick ALSO fellas im at the part when you say it keeps dimming, if you guys can find the Blu-Ray versions of the episodes it will remove the dimming of the screen... they had production issues and were stressed on time so that why you get the darker scenes out of no where. i would HIGHLY recommend the Blu-ray version if you guys can find them, better quality animation AND added scenes in some episodes
