I would say yeah the delay and the time it took for the launch date to be revealed definitely had a negative effect on peoples hype about the game, I've seen it happen before but I'm sure the ads and other partnerships will help positively and draw the community's attention.

The game definitely looks good. I'm kinda not surprised that people aren't talking about it (it doesn't have gratuitous fanservice, or an popular anime/video game) which always seems to be what causes people to talk about it. But I'm glad to hear that they are investing alot into ads and partnerships that will help people to see how great it is. And I truly believe it will help scratch the Final Fantasy Tactics itch that many are looking for. I know some people are discussing FEH but I think if you not in that at this point then you not playing that, speaking as a huge Fire Emblem fan. and also this game isn't direct competition or exactly like that game so itll hit the need others want. But, yeahhhhh imma need that pity decreased whether it rolls over or not.

A major problem with Sword of Convallaria is that it is going to compete with Fire Emblem Heroes. And I get the feeling that Nintendo is going to try to pay KZbin to try and bury all of the SoC videos underneath all of the Nintendo Videos, especially this featuring Fire Emblem Heroes. God forbid that some independent Chinese developer be able to outperform Fire Emblem Heroes.

im excited for this game but i dont like engaging with gacha systems when theyre p2w so ill probably play the solo content and maybe dabble in pvp (and get my butt handed to me by p2w whales lol) and thats about it! cant wait for the release!

Tactics games are also just niche. Also games don't need MHY levels of "success" or ultra hype launches to be successful. Although the biggest issue for this game in particular is its identity crisis that stands to lose both potential audiences by effectively catering to neither, but we'll see how it goes.

Been looking for new tactical games actually, i mean xcom was my go to, fire emblem heroes is old af so pass now, idk since its been so long but i think gfl2 was a tactical or something, but none are not coming or new, SoC has been on my radar for a while and had to search for it before. I do hope, and i really hope, SoC dont release on a day where titans make update or release like how Titanfall 2 release between cod and battlefield, that killed it, so hope that no update on any hoyo or kuro games, or nikke. There is an older Gacha game called War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius that scratches that tactical RPG itch, but it's in a pretty wild state right now after the 4th anniversary. It's a really solid game and I recommend it to anyone interested in tactical RPGs.

Its gacha....its DOA.....ppl dont like gacha, if only they released this as a jrpg standalone on all consoles it could have been amazing...what a waste. Ill still try the offline part but after that ill move on and never remember this game again like 99% of ppl.

It's DOA because it's gacha? Seriously? Are you not aware that the most successful games in the world are gacha games? I've got news for you: the preferences of a handful of people on Steam forums do not decide or indicate the success of a game that targets the mobile market.
