Let Earth and Heaven be one. The central idea of the Lord's prayer, and that the center of the Sermon on the Mount. Praise our Lord and King Jesus.

Grew up with traditional hymns. As a lifelong gardener who plants for honeybees, beneficials, wildlife, this is one of my very favorites. It is always such a blessing to hear this as I am outdoors among all His Wonders. Thank you.

angela bluebird60 question. what do you think about the gene splicing they are doing with fruit trees?.

Suppose I should be, but I am not familiar. I go with heirlooms and originals, rather than hybrids, as a rule. I'll be reading up on the gene splicing, now that you bring it to my attention. It is wonderful how some of our universities have introduced new Ag studies which combine the best of the old and (safest) new, low impact, best quality, yields, etc. are being achieved.

angela bluebird60 i only asked because you seem interested in nature. im a fairly new follower of Christ and had a discussion with a mentor about like stem cells and all this stuff thats against nature and mutating animals and stuff. then he brought up gene splicing for fruits and veggies and it made me start thinking because we are not supposed to mutate nature. and then i wondered if we are partaking (eating) fruit veggies that are genetically altered are we sinning?

Hmmm...sometimes I am a stick in the mud, but I likely wouldn't want that. My mom used to sometimes say, "We mustn't force nature,". I understand traditional grafting, but not gene splicing. Sometimes, "developments," do go too far, and not to the good of the plants, planet or people. Many times, there is no need for such extremes. Heirloom produce is wonderful. For me, to garden is, indeed, to be very close to God. Good journeys to you.
