The Japan website does ship internationally.....I just ordered one. I used Google Translate to get through the Japanese language to order it. About $85 with shipping to my home in Alabama! My shipping address showed up in different format once I ordered so hoping there are no issues. Thanks for the recommendation Tristan!!!

Thank you for this entire past year of tenkara adventures! I appreciate how much time and effort you invest in these productions. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. And this episode - finishing up on an unnamed creek? How awesome is that!? I thank you in advance for the 2023 adventures you can share!

I LOVE how candid and honest you are, Tristan….”I know fly is out because it’s on my shirt”😊……no big ego to suffer through here. This is one of the many reasons why I have followed you on both youtube channels and subscribe to your “Know How” website. You’re the best, Tristan!

For anyone looking now-ish, it looks likle the Japanese website linked is offering a built to order version of this rod (or at least a rod with the same name/specs, different coloration).

I really enjoyed this video. I'm now a senior citizen but years ago I spent six years of my child hood on the Island of Arran on the west coast of Scotland. My early angling adventures were with something similar to yours but using a homemade rod on the small burns (creeks) using a rod I made out of a cane I found on the local beach. I tied a short length of nylon to the tip and fitted a hook. I wasn't fly fishing but I used worms and the fish I caught were similar to the ones you were catching only brown trout and sometimes a small sea trout. Subsequently I went on to fly fishing but I really enjoyed my early years fishing on small brooks like the one you were fishing. The excitement was terrific.

As of today the Japanese website sells it for 8000 Yen and with overseas shipping total was 12800 Yen or with today's (4/8/24) exchange rate it was $87.98 I used Google Chrome to view the website and I used Chrome to translate to English. GOD Bless you and your families Kenneth

Thank you for your videos. I particularly like your use of the white arrows for hits. I try to anticipate where I would fish and the arrows make the hits stand out and verify (or not) if I was right. Thanks again.

Great you showing us your tenkara rods and catching them. Also really cool you catch and release. I just know with my fishing experience. Fish have a slim coating. Not a really good idea to handle them if you are just going to release them. Just a thought.

That Killer Kabari is your go-to fly - I think we all have one...mine is a Mr Rapidan dry. Also, when a stream "splits" like that, I always go up the fork with the greater flow - I find that the trout know which streams tend to run dry, and avoid them.
@ianjones6910 Жыл бұрын
@@Beeznhunny Harry Murray designed that fly to mimic two early season hatches in the Blue Ridge in Virginia, but I've used it to catch Cutthroats in Colorado, in August...basically it's an Adams with a yellow post, so it's just a "buggy looking" fly that works well in small streams and with trout who can't be too picky when a meal floats by.

I went to the Fishingshop site, but when I converted the Chinese Yuan to USD it came out to just over $1,000 dollars!? I have a feeling it's made in China not Japan due to the only place I could find it had to be a Chinese retailer since all the prices were in Yuan, and it was written in Chinese which of course Google translated it into English.

I see you catch and release every time. I think that’s very responsible. However, trout make tasty and healthy food when adequately prepared, so occasionally retaining three or four doesn’t seem to me to be objectionable. Am I a bad person?
