You can install a short shift mod on top of it, but you will have to take a round chainsaw file and fit each notch in order for it to stay in gear with the mod. @@mauser8515 I don’t know which short shifter mod you got, but the Ricmotech one did not require any filing. You can also calibrate the shifter gates on the PC software to ensure the gears engage when the stick is at the position you want it to be.

After 5 years of use it is still working perfectly. When I first installed it, 5th-7th would pop out of gear.

I think what GT does better than other games, at least from what I've seen in GT Sport, is how almost all cars have fully funtional dash gauges with accurate animations, be it analog or digital, including odometers and trip meters that work in real time to record your actual mileage on each car, which is not something I've seen in other games.

If you have a solid line you're generally fine. Its the back "straight" section that's difficult since you have to tip toe around the bends. Turning on oversteer assist greatly helps with the wet patches if done right.

It actually makes sense to have one as it's always been a handicap when trying to simulate real driving. If you've ever driven a car fast or on a track you know that you learn to feel your lateral gs and know the breaking point of your tires. A grip indicator is a good way to compensate for that lack of that.

I think i legit fell in love with this game, it has all my favorite tracks, enough missions to keep me busy for a couple of months, unless gt sport where it took me 2 months to unlock and complete everything in the game. And the fact you csn tune cars is amazing but the fact you feel a change and hear a turbo flutter when you add one is just amazing! Also the gt auto where you can put wide bodys and wings on cars is great! Already recreated a porsche 930 rwb and calsonic r32 on 1/1 acale. Its just amazing.

The coolest and most minute detail I've noticed in this game is... Cars with pop-up headlights have the headlights move slightly differently than each other when they pop-up or go down. I noticed this during a replay when I thought the movement looked super real, then watched the replay frame by frame. The headlights were in slightly different positions from each other in each frame (as if they were being operated by separate motors).

WX radar detects water vapor, if you can adjust the radar range, you can see the weather passing better, what’s really cool GT7 you can see the different rainfall depending on which part of rain clouds you are passing under.

There are actually wet mini-endurance races in the driving missions (24 and 30 minutes) that go one step further on this. 24 minutes of Le Mans, 30 minutes at Tsukuba, and 30 minutes at High Speed Ring. Everyone needs to do them. They're my favorite driving missions ever because they require a good strategy. They do involve fuel consumption and tire wear.

I love the dynamic weather in this game, I think the only thing that needs adding is a forecasted weather tab for series races and menu book races. That way you can pick the correct tyres for rain progression. You don't want to be 3 quarters the way thru the Nordschleife on your slick tyres when weather sets in like I was. 🙃

Have you played Grand Prix 4? It does a similar thing with the track evolution, and dry lines slowly forming as a race progresses. Obviously it's not as detailed or as graphically-impressive, but for a game that came out 20 years ago it still holds up pretty well IMO

I am still missing some main customization/camera features in GT. I cannot understand that they still did not add them: 1. have a hood cam that is not sometimes a hood cam and sometimes a roof cam for reasons only the developers may know 2. free camera fov adjustability 2. be able to enable/disable the virtual rear mirror in any view 3. adjust curves and deadzones for all analog inputs on any device

This does look great, I'm on PC so no GT7 for me. I loved PC2 track/rain effects when I got that. Now I race in AMS2 and that has good effects too - I believe it can have rain on one part of the track and not in another. Also real world weather including historic weather too . I agree, but what's really missing is a weather forecast in race setup. Looking at the sky doesn't work if there's fast time progression, rain can catch you on your out lap even if the weather looks fine during race setup. This made the 911 car menus a bit frustrating for me.

Was doing one of the career races earlier, Porsche Cup @ Nordschliefe. I love the changeable conditions in GT7 but what I want to know now is if the dry line is real, or pre-programmed to appear after a certain time on a specific part of the track? Next time I'll do a race alone (no AIs) and purposely drive off the racing line to see if a dry line forms on my alternate line.. Pretty cool to see how the conditions develop and you're forced to adapt, but wouldn't staying on the usual racing line basically be death though? Until the rubbered line gets cleaned off it'd be more slippery than the wet surface alone so you'd surely have to take other lines until all the cars going round start drying out a new line. Hopefully that drying line is accurately simulated by cars going round and not just gradually coloured in over time anyway 👀

I've been wanting to do a full scale 1 hour race with mixed weather conditions to see really how good the wet condition simulation is, but I'm kinda daunted by the idea lol. Might do it someday, or maybe even better, they update the game with such a mission race which I'll then be kinda obligated to do.
