As a luo yi main, i personally don't use the 1-throw-2-1 combo. Instead of wasting her first skill mark, I try to aim towards the other enemy units to fully maximize her passive. I also use the CD reduction build so I could spam her first skill at least 4 to 5 times during teamfights. In the current meta, being able to maximize her crowd control skills is better since this can disrupt the enemy formation and positioning during team fights.

@Dime Divinium just like beto, I buy 2 mana necklaces first before building her with magic boots. After the boots, I immediately build her with Enchanted Talisman. After this, I buy her holy crystal for magic power, and genius wand for penetration. Depending on the situation, I build her with divine glaive for additional penetration or glowing wand if there are tanky enemy heroes. Lastly, winter truncheon/immortality as defensive items. tl;dr re items: 1. magic shoes 2. enchanted talisman 3. holy crystal 4. genius wand 5. divine glaive/glowing wand 6. immortality/winter truncheon hope this helps :)

you can also use 1-1 and 1-2 combo to the enemies, so that when they are stunned and 'gathered', you use the 1-2 combo to double the damage. It's interesting though whether her 1-1 passive deals equal damage like 1-2 counterpart.

I think combining 'thirth' will balance the CDR and damage more, especially if the enemies don't use magic armor in the early game

Luo Yi is a really solid mage. She is a beast early game. And even in late game she can still deal massive damage. Her buffed ult cd is just a very good addition. Now you can use her ult without worrying too much about it's availability. But I honestly recommend cd build with enchanted talisman.

Basically if you have a good setup tank( and better someone u know not solo rank) just go for her . Also , if you feel unconfident and uncomfortable using her dont, because you will just miss all your skills, and if the ennemy has some annoying fighters and assassins like yuzhong, yin, lancelot, ling or any mobile divers , then its suitable not to pick her if you havent mastered her yet but you can opt to some defensive spells ( flicker, sprint,purify) or defensive items( antique cuirass, winter truncheon, athena shield). Its also recommended to pick her if most of the ennemies are squishies ( marksmen,mage) or melees (but not divers i just talked about) to make it hard for them to engage. Also when ennemy pick estes just make sure to spam her 100% . And some tips to play luo yi: -Make sure at level 1to harrass their support mid with your first skill constantly -When you reach level 2, rotate immediately with your tank since luo yi is aggressive early mage from level 2 -When you clear mid wave, harrass ennemy mage with s1+s2 so they cannot rotate and u have the advantage -use minions or ennemy tank most often to splash the damage to the ennemie behind so you have free burst aoe damage -When you want to perform yin yang combo, hit ennemy with first skill first ( the splash) then create the s2( circle) because it's more accurate -When you rotate or you are in teamfights, remember always to keep first skill and second skill in different colors so you can proc your passive immediately -Use your ult when it's available to rotate fast or gank with or without your team -If you run out of s2, hit different ennemies with different s1 colors so your passive procs anyways -And one of the most important things is be insighteful about your positioning in teamfights . It matters the most For the build: Nowadays people prefer clock of destiny and lightning truncheon plus magic items but honestly imo build her enchanted talisman and some magic pen items and your damage will go boom immediately . It's very rare for me to use her ult to attack enemies in soloQ, cause it usually backfires then - nobody teleports with me, I attack from behind, and my whole team backs-off, instead of cornering them... I usually build winter tr. and just become immortal late game - purify, ult, freze - pure immortality!

Luo Yi is still a decent mage in the current meta, but she is kinda like a hidden gem with her decent kit especially her teleport and with the assist of a tank/support with strong cc/initation skills. Like Kagura, you need to have a strategy, master them and decide whether the enemy and your teams composition is ideal for you to use them. What limits Luo Yi is just mobility, she doesn't have any dashes for herself but maybe a buff like gord where you can cast while still moving or like Yve where the 1st skill will grant you extra movement speed (if you hit the enemy in the center of the skill for Yve) if it either hits an enemy or does the yin yang reaction.

@@vanillabean7832 The most optimal team comp for Luo Yi is just like vexana because they have not so fast casting skills and they're easily avoided(a team with 1 or 2 frontliners, 3 if the tank, jungler and exp laner are all tanky, good intiators and has strong cc) About the optimal enemy team comp that makes Luo Yi shine, it's mostly squishy heroes like mages and marksmans, and also heroes regardless if they're tanky or not doesn't have the ability to dive straight to the backline.

Ever tried her ult + winter truncheon to escape from dangerous situations ? I just love to do that🤣🤣 I also use her to throw the toxic teammates to enemy's base who are busy in typing 🤣🤣🤣 also I make sure that I am ulting all my teammates (except me) to the place where enemies respawn while we are about to win. At that moment everyone is in panic to finish the game and doesn't notice my ult and dies🤣🤣🤣she is very fun to play.

Luo yi is indeed super godly or poop. No matter how good you are if your use the second skill before the first skill, it makes your attack a lot more anticipated. If the enemies like to stick together, ohhhh they are in for a treat. She plays best with a tank but with good timing she is unstoppable nevertheless. Only thing about her is when her second skill is on cooldown and is faced with an enemy her only choice is to spam first skill for shields. I've reached expert level on Luo Yi but I still can't land her first skill most of the time when there are no minions and only single target enemy. I really hope her first skill will be adjusted since the damage is in fan-shape area anyway so it should still hit enemy even if not landing on the center. adjusting her first skill will make her op (unbalanced) she has already good wide range i dont miss any of her skills(welp sometimes) but most of the times not and what you said abt this( I really hope her first skill will be adjusted since the damage is in fan-shape area anyway so it should still hit enemy even if not landing on the center) just to make it clear its fan shaped when it hits an enemy unit a minion and the others on the back of will get hit too (sorry for my bad english not really fluent int it)

And I'm aware the fan shape hits the target at the back. I'm talking about solo target with no one around. It feels like playing Gusion.

A tip for lou yi You should skill 1 then you change the skill 1 the same color that you apply then skill 2 You need to do that so they don't a chance to run away

Lou yi is simply one of the most versatile mages. She can troll, she can support, she can burst, she can dps. I just don't play her often because for some reason, I always fail to land her 1st skill. Hehe

A skill cast speed buff on her S1 might make her more competitive, Xavier also has the same problem… both are just too slow and are easily avoided by heroes with a smaller hit box the good thing is that luo has more versatility either S1 passive ability

If u want someone who can defend u while u take the lord u must choose her Lou yi. Because of her crowd control she can stop the enemy from even attacking u or the lord
