All my tanks are acrylic and I love them, just make sure you have acrylic specific cleaning tools and only use cleaning magnets, like Mag float with an extra algae pad on the inside, weather you have sand on not. That tank is a work of art!! Enjoy!!!

Hello Tobias, Florian S. designed my first acrylic tank 2014 , five years later I ordered another two acrylic tanks. I have sweetwater fish...The advantage of the lower weight is very important in case of moving to another place. The tanks are expensive but white glass is more expensive. Best wishes, Michael

Glass> acrylic unless we’re talking 200+ gallons or 757 liters for that matter. Ive learn over time crazing in acrylic becomes significant and is completely unavoidable tagged along with zero solutions to crazing. Sick tank though! Love the depth.

Excellent choice of equipment :) i dont like acrylic it scratches far to easily and it bends over time especially with heat, the euro brace top will help it to keep shape but not my thing :) it will make an epic build though look forward to seeing it come together

I just swichted from a very small 42 litre white glass tank with only 5 mm glass to a bigger tank with 10 mm glass and i see how much light the glass absorbs. So i maybe later try an acrylic tank next time! :)

Beautiful aquarium. You're going to need the right tools to clean an acrylic aquarium. Be very careful not to pickup sand. When the Coraline algae grows, it definitely takes a lot of effort to keep things looking good. I generally avoid acrylic in my main display tank. I can clean my glass aquarium panels in a minute or two. Acrylic took me 10 plus minutes. Plastic scrapers just don't remove the hards stuff.

Use micro fiber towel to clean it what scratching it.

Nothing beats the look of acrylic and you can keep it from scratching just make sure you don't get sand on your micro fiber towel. And unlike glass if you do scratch it you can buff it out glass not so much plus acrylic is 17 times stronger than glass ,insulates better and doesn't bow if it's thick enough.

I've never owned acrylic tanks, but are all the air bubbles in the joints normal. It seems like it would cause issues as the tank ages. For me it's a huge eye sore as well.

Don't let it build up in the first place. It's not to hard to clean off if you soften it with vinegar and use a plastic scraper.
