@@stuartswindellcampoy8483 Cool to hear you've had good experiences with the Syco! I have an older Hollyland Solidcom C1 set that isn't super high build quality (feels plastic) but sounds and operates so nice. I like that the Syco description says you can convert any headset into a Master headset. That's always a concern of mine that the Master gets damaged on a big project and we lose all Comms. @@davidmorefield As you get better jobs ,the situation where production will insist on downloading being done through software, that does a hash check and also generates a download report, will definitely happen . They need this for their insurance and its also good insurance to cover your own arse if any data gets screwed around in post and you will get the blame from them every time ! , Ive had this happen and my down load reports have saved me from being blamed. Hedge , now Offshoot , or Shotput pro are common ones . You can also pre set folder names and the roll and date will advance automatically , as sometimes they will want quite complex ones, and it saves you having to type it out each time. It slows it down a bit but the CFA are so fast its not a problem and you have the peace of mind that everything has been checked for any corrupt files and a download report for post and for your own records.

I picked up the Bright Beast last winter when you were using and talking about it, got it on a BHDeal (used). The focused beam while still being 1x1 is much more useful than my Aputure p300c which hardly ever comes out of its case. More efficient = v mount actually lasts a while. Especially the bigger 212+watt hour v-mount batts that are out there. With the Beast (or Litepanels 6x) No barndoors needed, its brighter 5-10ft away than the p300c and less spill. But... You are totally right, no Sidus link. All about having the right tool for the job and knowing how to get the job done with whatever you've got on hand. Happy Holidays 🎉🎉🎉!

Since Hollyland has said you can request anything... I recommend trying the Pyro 7 monitor/transmitter/receiver (to replace your current setup of monitor + transmitter to iPad) and the Solidcom headset, especially the SE version (budget version). Both would be great additions to your workflow.
@travisminneapolis5 күн бұрын
There don't seem to be real world reviews of the Pyro7. I almost ordered the 2 pack ($999 over the holidays here) but ended up going with the DJI transmitter for longer range. But you pay half the price and don't even get monitors.... If the Pyro 7 had legit user feedback videos and not just hyped surface videos with heavy NDA about not mentioning anything bad about them... Might order them.

Gatta agree with trying the pyro 7. I’ve really been enjoying my unit since I purchased it as a well needed upgrade to my 5” shinobi. I must also agree that as a client monitor, the pyro is still a bit small but I’m planning to test out if I can transmit a video signal from the pyro to my 12” iPad Pro through the hollyland app without having to use a standalone receiver. Also looking forward to utilizing the screenshot and overlay feature for product work and possible live action blocking.

I've been looking for a way to do multiview easier and less expensive too. I've been toying with the idea of putting together a cheap 3-1 HDMI switcher + a production monitor like the Seetec P133 Pro (13", around $500), with some wireless TX like the hollyland or I just got the Shimbol TX/RX kit. I wouldn't trust these camera apps for anything beyond self filming in studio or something, the range and reliability just isn't there with the wifi built into these cameras. I thought about getting a Hollyland kit and a 12.9" ipad, but I already have an older 11" pro and mini 6 haha. Trying to cut down on gear as well. Happy holidays my man!
