Wherever your next adventure takes you Mary, you will be loved, respected, and appreciated. Thank you so much for your great tips, instruction and advice. I have learned so much from you and I have loved your interesting and quirky way of teaching. Your shows have been refreshing and such a welcome change from the normally dry and rather staunch quilting instruction so easily found elsewhere. My favorite shows were the ones when your mom was the guest. You two are great, together. I, for one, will miss you!

We all understand your emotions here, Mary. Quilty was like a foster child you had taken care of and loved for the last five years and now that child is going to be parented by another adult. Even though you know there will be other "foster children" that will come into your life to care for, your "Quilty-child" will always hold a special place in your heart. That moment when you said, "don't look at that" , the "thread goober" as you called it, was something we could all relate to. I think it adds a very personal touch to the quilt. Seriously. It's an example of the time and effort that's put into making a quilt for someone on a home/domestic machine. Isn't it the Amish that have a tradition of leaving at least a small mistake in each of their quilts? You can always hand stitch an applique to cover it, maybe even make it an unique place to put your quilt label or put a funny message on it stating something like, "Under this applique lies the stitching mistake proving that I couldn't wait to get this finished and give you this gift from the heart" etc. Good luck in your future endeavors; it seems there are other foster children looking forward to your love and care. :-) And congratulations on your new fabric line with Springs!

Wow! This was a very special video! I first "met you" online when you were working on the show with your mom. It was you two that drew me in to watching an online quilting show. I've learned so much and still have so much to learn! Thank you for sharing this quilt you made and your message regarding beginner quilters! It can be incredibly intimidating to join a group or ask questions when every term and process is new! I was lucky (22 yrs ago) in that I knew how to thread and use a sewing maching, I had sewn a little by hand (but am still not great or fast even now!!) and had a good eye for color combinations and contrasts. Groups WISH they could attract more beginning quilters!

I am an experienced quilter, who learned from watching your mom and Liz on PBS in the 90s. Your show is great, too. I always found an interesting piece of advice here, fresh fabric combos, a new way to do something, or best of all, your up-beat energy. You have a wonderful spirit that shines through the screen. Oh Beautiful Mary! I wish you all of the very best luck in the world for your new endeavours-but I'm really so sad. I only started quilting in the last 12 months and I found you early on in my quilting journey and I love you because you remind me so much of myself-oh look she's the American Me! I have learnt so much about the little things in quilting from you and look forward to each new episode you do because it helps to keep inspiring me. So I'll share my Quilt Story with you-because you're in it! I made my first ever quilt in the last 6 months and gifted it for Christmas to my beautiful Mother-in-Law-I just knew it was for her after the first class, and when she opened it she just totally loved it! So much so that she asked me to make her another just like it for her massive King Sized Bed- arggggggh!! But of course I said yes - because I love her-LOTS! So, her Christmas quilt over the last few weeks has became her "Brag Quilt" and she showed it off to all of her friends and kept reminding me I should start her 'Big Quilt'. Just a few days ago we found out that she is very sick with Leukaemia, and so start this quilt I must-very soon in fact, and I have figured out that I am going to probably need to use a new technique to achieve the look I want for her quilt-Paper Piecing-and guess who I learnt that from....who made it seem easy and possible....Yep-that would be you! Blessings to you lovely lady - you are very awesome - so go on spreading that magic fairy dust wherever you go - we will all be looking for the trail so we can find you again. xxx Larissa

Dear Mary, you leaving the show is so sad. I'll miss you - your humour, your way of teaching and giving advice and the way you're meeting your guests, friends and family. Wish you all the best and hope to hear from you again very soon. Good luck from Germany, take care.
