This Is My Story | Ex KDF Soldier Clinton Mulwa | Battling Depression & Losing His Ability to Walk

Clinton Mulwa is a former Kenya Defense Forces soldier who served at the force for six years. After training and finishing his induction course, he was first posted to Gilgil (Kenya Rifles) then deployed to Wajir (Elwak) and due to the impressive work done there he was enlisted to join the AMISOM fleet deployed to Somalia. He reflects on a rather challenging experience in Somalia with close calls with IEDs, engaging Al-Shabaab combatants that would affect his quality of life later on. After one year in Somalia, he came back did a Military police course and is from there that things started going wrong. From a demotion, to battling depression, separation with his wife and losing his ability to walk due to Guillain Barre Syndrome, life was tough. This story captures his path to restoration and regaining his ability to walk again.

Am apolice officer and i can tell you that my colleagues who left the service irregardless of how they left are doing well and not regretting having left. I woke up 1 day and left the military with nothing apart from my experience. I lost friends and so many people close to me saw me as a failure. I thank God i was never depressed (if so i dont know) though i struggled to resettle in the corporate world. By the grace of God all what i lost is being repaid in double. I developed exactly the same problem like Clinton's on 6th June this year. Have even undergoing physiotherapy even today. It's very tough but God is faithful .unlike Clinton my wife has supported me greatly. God works in mysterious ways and Clinton's story has really touched me. The problem is our millitary management When you study the United States army, the millitary psychiatrist is among the top paid people because they monitor how the soldiers are fairing on And they could detect any stress before it gets worse

Lies. They have a functioning VA, but they don't detect something before it happens 😂😂😂. PTSD is one of the biggest challenges in the US forces. There are a lot of homeless soldiers, and some are struggling with mental health issues.
