Always a good idea to return to your roots in the rookie series, boys! 😊 Top split / higher split races in Formula Vee is the most fun I’ve had in iRacing. The racing is often close and far more respectful than in other series.

Hi Dave, as a new old guy just starting my new racing career so to speak I have watched many videos of yours and trying to follow your driving style. I have to admit @ 1.45 for me I thought I was driving my butt off and doing great. I pay close attention to your gear selection and speed. For me I think I try to drive too smooth, but hey I'm still very much a Rookie. Speed comes with practice and consistency. Being a fellow Brit I do enjoy the bit of cheekiness. One day perhaps we might race or more then likely I will just follow you around. Cheers

The overdrive button. I don't remember them myself but after I passed my test in '87, my dad picked up an L-reg Triumph Dolomite for me as my first car. 1850cc engine but it was a horrible car in hindsight. He got it because, apparently, he had a Dolomite Sprint before I was born. That, of course, was the model with the overdrive button.

Another good run with the Mazda, a good little car and yes you are correct it may be a rookie class but is always enjoyable. The tyres struggle for grip though in opening stages of all races.

lol this track is just a war of attrition in the lower splits. I just backed out of any battle then stuck up their arse applying pressure until they spin off on their own. If someone was up my arse I just let em past because more often then not they end up off the track anyway. Good track, gotta have good weight managment for this one.

Hey Dave, nice race! I really liked seeing you race with a sequential shifter like you did today! I have a physical disability and can't use the peddles for shifting and just got the Moza sequential shifter. While I like it, it's really a workout i faster cars like GT4/GT3. May I challenge you to try to do a race like that?

It gets worse. If you watch his POV he does a double out lap with tire warming just to beat Dario, who hasn't practiced, by a few hundreds, then does what you saw here in the video and then comes into Darios chat and flaming him, saying he is slow and its his fault. Blud is full on delusional 😂

Hi Dave. Love the new videos. The editing is top notch & I appreciate they must take a lot longer to produce and harder to edit, but the end result is well worth it young sir ;) Also, I can leave more comments now as I've invested in a gaming laptop (which is perfect for ETS 2). Shame I probably wont be able to use a DD base on this, but it's only until I can afford to upgrade the PC a bit (graphics card operates in the mode of non-functionality). Keep up the stellar work & will be catching up on some more videos whilst in Aviemore for a fortnite.

Hey Dave another awesome race. Quick question on your pedals do you have a Max breakforce set? For example setting the max pressure to 80% or do you keep it at 100%. I hope my question makes sense.

No, I have never and would never cap my brake pressure. I can brake to 100% in every car 👍

@davecamm I tried setting my brake to 100% and it just felt very awkward to me. I've been sim racing for about 2 years and always had my brake set to 80-85%. I feel like your way is the right way. You have any tips for me for 100% braking

@davecamyt8 ай бұрын
The trouble with watching KZbin videos is that it seems I'm braking later than you. By the time I get to my reference point, there is a small reaction time before hitting the brakes so it would seem I'm braking later. It's very rare I'm braking to 100% in the Mazda. You've just got to brake a little less and trust that the car will stop 😁

VIR North is awful. If VIR isnt full i don't want to run it. The north course takes out all the fun parts and keeps the annoying turn 1-4 and then the rollercoaster and pig pen... WHY?!?!
@BeachBum88m8 ай бұрын
VIR is such a technical track, yet has a lot of room for line variations to play mindgames with the other drivers. It's funny you mention an "overdrive" for tween-gears; I raced autocross with a fellow who had a Triumph TR6 with a two-speed rear diff, rigged to what he called his "giggle switch" on the column. Whenever he needed just a tad more top end out of second gear at the end of a course for a fast finish, you'd hear him bump it and get an extra 15mph out of second for an extra couple tenths or so of time. If only you could get that in iRacing 😆
