In this video I will show you all the modes of this self flying drone (it's a fully automated drone) and what I think of it.
This hover camera x1 drone will be replacing my DJI mini 2 for every wild camp now as it's a lot lighter, has follow me mode and doesn't need a controller!
I bought the Hover air x1 drone for £275 from Indiegogo on a Kickstarter which has now finished so you cannot buy the drone from there anymore.

For a video that at times made me swat at invisible flies myself, I sure enjoyed it a lot. Great review of a cool little drone that would actually get a LOT of use due to its light weight and easy set up and use. My fear would be it accidentally landing itself in water or off a cliff or circling into a tree or something, since it's doing so much autonomously. But either way it looks awesome! I'll have to check out some of your camping videos as well.

If that thing had a bright LED flood light on it, it would be a great work companion for the deckhands who work on inland tow boats, hands free lighting and MOB (Man Overboard) coverage. They could have it follow them out onto tow at night, providing constant overhead lighting. Plus the camera could help the wheelman as he enters locks and makes narrow bridges.

Only one problem with that the danggum FAA would charge you an $100,000.00 fine for using it for work. If you have to do it for work you have to take A pilot's test. I could probably never pass the test then you'd have to try again and again. I have learning disabilities due to Aspergers Syndrome.

Thats a nice little drone Gaz, I mean the DJI is the more advanced and technically better drone but thats not the point here, this drone is super flexible, easy to use and quick deployable. To be honest this is a better drone for your needs, no question about it. Ohhhh another thing, the audio is not only good but very good, no distorsion no hissing this is good enough for KZbin. Quality video: you must be close to Scotland😀 Man of my own heart. Wild camping only. Set up anywhere at sunset and pack up before people arrive and leave tidier that one arrived! That way you can sleep anywhere without disturbing anything. Great drone too I’m in.

When this first came out I know it was not what is was claimed to be but its nice to see how amazing it turned out. For the price its not bad at all. The quality of video is a little bit of a let down but for the purposes you stated it really does do a good job and its also really cool to see how you can basically use it as a camera man in those times when you just want a better shot. I would love to see if this could handle one fo thise insta 360 cams the new tiney ones and see if it gets good footage with that attached. Question I have with it being such a light airframe how does it handle working with higher winds?

Yeah, very loud because of the tiny rotors. Convenient form factor. It's a good thing that it uses the phone to record sound and sync video, you can get the drone far enough away to not hear it on the audio. I like how simple it seems to use.

Do keep in mind that this one is much more limited in a real drone sense. You can't really take aerial photography on landscape videos from any significant altitude, since it uses the phone WiFi for signal, which is really limited in range.

I used to walk owt up to 40 mile aday when i was Physically able to, now mate its absolutely diabolical im lucky if i can do 10 minutes before I have to sit down for a few minutes. Pretty cool gadget, and I bet it will be just the start of very smart drones which can follow verbal instructions, rather than only pre-programmed routines. But these routines are pretty diverse and useful, even if not universal.
