Buy a 3/4 ton Ford or Chevy you don’t need a diesel to tow a bass boat a large v8 as the engine,what you loose in the little bit of gas mileage, you’ll save on maintenance over the long haul with that diesel! I’ve been doing this for a long time and it works for me. I have a gmc AT 4 it’s really boogie but it’s really comfy and looks great just my 2 cents good luck this year!

If you want reliability my dad has a duramax and he is on the road all day in two years he has put 160,000 miles on it he bought it with 0 miles and hasn’t had a problem with it. Now for gas you can’t go wrong with a Toyota tundra or Tacoma both really reliable

Buy a 3/4 ton diesel! I'd do with Ford or GM But diesel will give you power, mpg's, and overall comfort Diesel will out preform any gasser especially when towing across the country Also for resale, having a gasser that has pulled a boat around the country will tank in value

Gas 3/4 ton is the way to go. All your gear will quickly max a 1500, especially a crew cab. Ford 7.3L gets my first vote. Next is Ram 6.4L but you want a newer truck with the 8 speed. GMs 6.6L is doable but the 6 speed is lacking in terms of efficiency. There is no benefit to modern diesels unless you plan to keep the truck for at least 2-300k miles, even then emissions systems problems are a headache.
