I have been meaning to talk about this but your video gave me the push I needed to finally shoot this video. Oh yes, the rehab point had to be first because it is constantly putting people in impossible situations. So glad you enjoyed the video.

All these points are so necessary to iterate! Some of these notions come up because of the way our society views marriage and married people. Married people get perks that aren't accorded to singles. For instance, single ladies are called to help serve food at family functions, married ladies aren't. I used to get catcalled before I got married, now they see my ring and shut up. I cannot understand why married people are viewed as more respectable, check out the phrase "make an honest woman of her". It's like there's a marriage machine that will automatically turn anyone into a saint. Na there all these wahala dey start, and it needs to end, really fast. The pressure on unmarried people is unnecessary and just too much! People feel so much tension, they end up settling for frogs. Marriage is far from pretty, it's daunting! Sometimes sef, if you look some marriages, you go wan just remain single.

That "make an honest woman out of her" is such any annoying phrase. Wetin she be before na. Someone told me that they send the single ladies on errands during the events, so they can be up and about and then potential suitors will notice them! Ha!

Marriage is not a race oh! You must not get married before your younger siblings or at the same time as your classmates or before 30. 😁 Proverbs 18:22 says ‘Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, …’ not whoso findeth a wife before he is or she is 30 or 40 or 50, etc.

Yesssssss! It is not a race! And I think a lot of Nigerian parents also need to quit mounting that pressure of "do you want us to wear your younger sister's aso ebi before yours?" . The pressure to get married before younger siblings is a legit issue. Thanks for adding that.
