They've done it for a while now. Trunks bootlegs have been popping up since 2017 with the Bandai logo. Just look out for ones that are $20-. Usually those are fake. Though, I've seen some fakes for insanely high prices and some legit figures for relatively low prices (last summer I recall #17 being sold with Awakening Goku for around $70. All I remember being wrong was #17's toe broke off.)

I think the bootleggers intentionally make some variations. Maybe they realize their bread and butter is if the original is worth a lot so that people will buy cheap fakes? If they can make a mold from the original, makes no sense that the gun and holster not the same other than intentional. I noticed that with Funko Pops as well.
