aw man this is their last show? this makes me sad, such an amazing, abrasive and rather obscure band created these amazing sounds ahead of their time...yet now they've officially ended, no more reunions, no new albums, songs, cacophony, well ends are inevitable and I glad it went with such an amazing bang.

Seen them at the YMCA at Tottenham Court road in 1979 and after that in O.16 in Voorburg and in some club in Katwijkk in Holland. Briliant !

Oh! I thought the concert that I saw at The Albany, Deptford about a month before this, was their final ever show. Seems not. They went off to America straight afterwards or something. Well I got to smoke a cigarette with Charles Bullen before the show that I saw. No one else got to do that. It is pretty weird that this final concert was on my birthday though. Crazy Synchronicity..

Damn, I’m jealous. I’d kill to smoke a cigarette with Charles Bullen
@PEGGLORE Жыл бұрын
@@LongSinceDead1 Cheers. It was a very good experience, yes. Exactly how you'd imagine. I'll tell you, it was quite clever of me what I did. So the tickets for the final show actually sold out, so had to go to the one that was the day before it instead. Next day though I said there's no way I'm missing their final show, so I went back up to the venue again, and walked straight in with the same stamp on my hand from the night before. Didn't even have to queue up, or pay. Had no choice but to do this, and it worked. Rock and roll.. I then went straight to the smoking area and he was the 1st person I saw, so took the obvious opportunity. Unusual thing was that he was wearing an eyepatch. I asked what's wrong. He said he got a detached retina, and has an appointment with Moorfields eye hospital next day. I said I went there recently myself for a problem. So he was surprised at that and we bonded over that fact mainly. You can search for footage of their gig at the Albany and can see the eyepatch. There's a crazier story about me finally getting my albums signed by them, but that's really long and complicated to explain. Don't think I'll bother.

in general, I abhor revival bands, but in this case, the original work was and is important enough to warrent revisiting.
@birdzzzondayflu248911 ай бұрын
I messaged Charles T recently and suggested a “Camberwell Now revival” - he said “a revisit” was a better term
@evanmscala3 ай бұрын
Honestly when I saw this live I can say that it felt like more than a mere revisiting. While I’ll obviously never get to see the OG trio in some fuckoff Camden warehouse, TINTH was literally one of the top five shows of my life. There’s a perfect measure of respect towards the music while imbuing it with something new imo.
@edmaenhout91847 ай бұрын
I saw them in 1979 At the YMCA at Tottenham Court road and later at O. 16 in Vorburg. Best band ever. Kees Tazelaar who played in the Brommerz and now is director at the Conservatorium in The Hague will agree.
