The problem with molten mantle is that you are freezing your build. You cannot change anything but chests and ? Events. It honestly kinda sucks if you get it anytime before the end of chapter 2.

It's so broken that I actually refuse to take it from floor 2 most of the time just to make the game more fair. The downside is intended to be that you freeze your build, but it never actually ends up mattering since getting it just auto-wins the run 90% of the time.

@@CowKirbo Pretty much, yeah, so unless your orbs are absolutely horrendous, which is hard to achieve with how many good orbs you can work with, molten mantle just sweeps. Of course, if you take it as your first few relics and you can't upgrade any of your orbs, while stuck with just base stones, congratulations, you screwed yourself over XD

Well it isn't _that_ great. You get a baller couple first turns, but then you suck for the rest of the fight, and you can't upgrade or buy anything as well, so you stagnate even harder. This run was pretty scary.

I'd love to see other Peglin characters added, with different starting buffs and nerfs. Sisypegus (or Pegyphus) who starts with double health and a level 3 bouldorb and its all about collecting orbs to deal with flying enemies. Ebenorbza Scrooge who starts with 3 Poltorbgeist and collects triple coins but you can only spend money once per floor or something...

So I just found an "infinite" damage combo. Basic set up was a one orb deck, doesn't matter what orb. The relic that makes consecutive orbs get +1/+2. Relic that makes you unable to take damage while reloading. And the relic that gives overflow. You basically just discard your one orb over and over and you will keep getting more and more damage each time. I say infinite because the only limiting factor on damage is how much time you're willing to spend discarding.

If you can get even a few damage buffs on Molten Mantle it goes through the roof. Seriously Power Glove + Basic Knife or Complex Claw and any orb of reasonable damage or multi-hit potential and you'll melt everything.

I wouldn't say it's the strongest relic, or atleast it's only the strongest if you have correct build for it. Generally taking it from first bossfight is gamelosing because of its downside, and for floor 2 you just can't always count on getting it and the downside is still impactful. It didn't hurt you that much because your orbs were already lvl 3 and they were synergyzing with both your build and the Molten Mantle. So, while it may be the strongest relic you just often can't afford to take it
