Actually I believe it’s a critique on the real world dog breeding industry and how some dogs are bred to extremes. Pugs for example, many pugs have been bred to have flatter and flatter faces and it most often ends up setting them up for a life of pain and struggle.

During the beta, I went on a quest to breed the dog with the biggest tail, no legs, and no head, and after a lot of time I did end up getting it... but at what cost. Anyway hope you keep playing the game and getting stranger dogs! I love this game! Been playing since early access :) a little tip: if you crossbreed a whole bunch, you can get some fun mutations! Be careful though, if the simulation gets too unstable you can get some unfortunate dogs who are..... Survival challenged.
