It's a total shock hearing of the passing of this incredible, gifted actor that we have come to know through television and film. My heart his hurting and my eyes are heavy with tears. The numerous characters he chose to portray are too many to mention here. Geoffrey Palmer will be best remembered as "Lionel" in "As Time Goes By". We loved and enjoyed watching him and he will live on forever in the films. His film legacy is enormously rich and he shall never be forgotten by his fans. Rest In Peace Geoffrey Palmer. Prayers and condolences to the surviving members of his family.

I always saw Geoffrey Palmer as a British Walter Matthau - that same wonderfully laconic delivery and performance. Two much-missed men who brought such pleasure to so many.

My Dad would have loved this story. He often told stories about someone using way too much dynamite to blow clear debris from below the base of a bridge or to take out a railway line during WWII. The former story was always told with the same tone as this one. “I could have told them that it was far too much TNT…” I wish he was here to tell it for the thousandth time. He’d be snorting with laughter by the end of the story…

Mr. Palmer, You probably won't see this Comment, but we want to thank you for the literally decades of entertainment you have provided us, and the world. The list of great shows you've done is lengthy. We think our favorites of yours are Fairly Secret Army, and Reginald Perrin. Best to you and your family. Angela and Dave Peck

Ah, Yes, Evelyn Waugh & Brideshead Revisited and how many times did we watch those QE2 scenes, especially the deck sequence in a live storm? April 10, 2016 is the 50th Anniversary of Waugh's early death (62) and a publication of his works is due this year; and, what better person is there, to share some of this with us, than Geoffrey Palmer? We sure admire this guy in America.....
