Wow, I wasn’t expecting the under bed clutter! Haha 😆 all that’s under my bed is a curtain rod to poke our cat when she won’t come out. This might be my fav video in the series. It’s cute watching you and your husband work together 🥰

I loved this video and this series! It's so hard to get my husband to organize/go through his clothing but I totally agree with you that they should be the ones to decide what to get rid of for their own things. I love organizing so this series has been a great motivation to go through the entire house!

I get the newborn too tired to know or care phase! Apparently in the middle of the night feeds, I would get a diaper and it would fall between the top of the bed and the bed frame, so I would get another. I must have done this often! My older kids (3 & 5) "found" a bunch of the baby diapers (all clean!) down there about a year later & told my MIL we had baby diapers under the bed! 🤦♀️ She looked horrified! Eh - I got over it (and then cleaned under the bed!) Thanks for the inspiration! Smiles, Abby Smith

My husbands closet and dressers used to look exactly like this. Then I became very minimal and slowly got him on board. Now, I do all the laundry for my family of 5 and i keep everyone extremely organized. I felt like i had to baby my husband through it until he adapted to it, and now he does such a great job! I think the fact that I stay on top of doing all of his laundry weekly really helps. Great video. You always inspire me.

👏 I've been following along slowly but surely this entire series. I have reorganized more than minimalized, but it is making such a difference! I have to revisit my guest room, AKA the junk graveyard, and reorganize it again right now.

Don’t let this go to Westin’s head but I loop back to these Messy to Minimal episodes (even after watching them already) and that guy and your dynamic just makes me smile. Reminds me a lot of what my husband would be doing (facial expressions and commentary) if I were you. Thank you for your videos!

Throughout this video but especially the end, Weston made my eyes water as he was seeming not to laugh. His “serious” expressions kept me watching. I have raised three boys and they don’t care about organization of clothes-maybe tools. Because I miss those days I thank Weston for making me happy.

👏🏼 this series has been absolutely fantastic! It has gotten me to even declutter my own home. We don’t have any functional storage and I’ve finally decided to cut down on all of the “stuff” all over my house. Also, that flamingo shirt kills me! My husband had a few Hawaiian shirts before we moved to our current home and somehow “lost” them in the move. I don’t know how that happened 🤷🏻♀️🤫

Just started my own messy to minimal journey this year - my mom and I are doing it together - and I stumbled upon this channel while searching for inspiration. LOVING IT! Also, I completely understand Weston's struggle of trying to have a minimal, but dual wardrobe. I am a t-shirt and jeans girl to the core, but I work a business professional job currently. The day I can declutter all of my business professional clothes from my wardrobe will call for a huge celebration!!
@BookloverFantasy923 жыл бұрын
My priority is the kitchen for sure. The I just go around the house in order, doing one area at a time, mixing in a little bit of my kids room. our bedroom will be last, only because its the most overwhelming and needs a lot of work done in there. so if I can get the rest of the house clean first, I'm hoping the bedroom will be easier to tackle knowing it's the last room of the house.

This came at perfect timing - I'm currently in the process of helping my dad get started on decluttering his closet (we were going to do it last month, but I had to cancel my trip to visit them, so we didn't do it then). I sent him your garage video and he really loved it (there's *maybe* 12 square feet of clear space in my parents' entire 2-car garage because it's so full of stuff). Can't wait to watch this one!!

Could it be that you're allergic to dustmite instead of mold? I'd expect a lot of dust coming out from the back of the closet and from under the bed. Luckily you can clean under your bed a lot better now without all of the mess. :)

This is great stuff! Your husband and children are adorable. De-cluttering is physically and emotionally exhausting. You show the realness of it step by step. I finally figured out that it's like a domino effect if things are extremely disorganized. Your house isn't crazy crazy, just stuff to go through but it's in the right places. So if people are in a deeply disorganized house, like mine, it's paramount to find enough dresser space or closet space to put clean laundry and linens so a laundry schedule can be started. This sounds like a no brainer but it's key for someone like me who could never figure out the Flylady system until I watched Steph on The Secret Slob.

Hi I have severe allergies too!!!!! I live in North Tx. Get a hepa air filter for living room and bedrooms. mold is no joke it can damage your lungs!!!!!! especially for kids. Vaccume really good in the closets and do a good sweep of each room every few days. Change your air filters in AC units as well. Your house looks great! keep up the good work.

Love your channel... Love that you aren't hung up on numbers.. Which is rediculous.. Because minimalism is different for everyone because everyone lives different lives! The vacuum bags are mainly good to keep off mold and keep out moths.. I use a mask to help allergies when deep cleaning/sorting.. That's what I do.. Even if you aren't allergic to dust mites.. Pollen etc is in the dust!.. Revisiting is essential to keep up with things and with time things become easier and it's easier to get rid of stuff!

My husband are moving back to the States soon after living in China for two years, and it feels like we’ve never had a proper home together that we knew we’d be in for very long, so now I’m determined to START minimal with our home in the states. I definitely did not grow up minimal at ALL. I’m looking forward to it.

I haven't done the majority of the garage, but my workbench area has gotten a great organizing lately, so hopefully I can start tackling sections or boxes one at a time. I've been really proud of myself, I've been actually building some small organizational things from wood, like a caddy for all our camp chairs, which seems a simple thing but makes such a difference when they were all haphazardly stored around the garage.

I definitely feel the two wardrobes thing. I’m a cultural resource management archaeologist so everything I wear to work I have to be okay with getting covered in mud and spraying down with tick repellent. But then I have nicer clothes for when I have to look “professional” and clothes to wear to church and clothes for the weekends and evenings. It turns out that’s a lot of clothes!
