That was the first Zeppelin song that introduced them to the world. Talk about coming out the gate swinging! And all those bass drum triplets are done with one foot. Incredible. Bonham was a beast on drum. No wonder they called it quits when he passed away. He was irreplaceable. They made 8 studio albums.....and 2 Live albums.

Imagine a teenager back in 1968 he buys an album by a band he’s never heard of before. It by Led Zeppelin, their first album. He puts it on the turntable, not knowing what to expect, drops the needle, and is hit by those two big chords at maximum volume. I nearly shat my pants. What a way for a band to introduce themselves. It was just a massive declaration, saying, “I’m here, pay attention”.

I was seven, and Neil Diamond was about as racy as it got at my house. Then my uncle came home from the Army with a bunch of new records. When dropped the arm on LZ I, I was gob-smacked, more than any album I'd ever heard (and very few since). Like going from black-and-white to color with Dorothy. Same uncle turned me on to The Stones, The Who, Allman Bros., Buddy Guy, etc., and Monty Python. I sure miss Jeff, RIP ...

It always amazes me how when people listen to the old time rock it seems like there's a feel for it it grabs you and it's just so amazing how you just feel for it. But it just seems like when he first sings in his first part he tells you that his parents and the people around him tell him how to be a good man but when he gets older it's not so easy and hard to stay in line. Things keep happening. And that has always taught me to watch out for the unexpected

Robert's wife Maureen was Indian. Born in Calcutta. If you listen, there are hints in his lyrics sometimes about the struggles they went through. It was the 1960s in England. In That's the Way I hear it. Here he says he's going to love her no matter what the neighbours say. And just a side note. I'm 70, had surgery on Saturday and the operating room blasted Whole Lotta Love for me as I flew away. It's the only way to go.😂 Love you're reactions.❤

Anglo-Indian not full Indian. There were and are a lot of half English half Indian families due to mixed marriages. My step father's family was one of them. Many were prejudiced against in India after Indian independence in 1947 and emigrated to England.

Out of all the Led Zeppelin songs, there only 2 songs I don’t care for, Hats Off To Roy Harper & Candy Store. Everything else is fire, I’ve been a fan for about 50 years. Their live performances are even more amazing then studio versions. Not sure if your going in order or not, if not here’s a few you need to listen to. Lives from Madison Square Gardens (1973), Since I’ve Been Loving You, soulful passionate blues rock. No Quarter* Dazed & Confused* Stairway To Heaven* the Song Remains The Same/The Rain Song, those two together. From Earls Court concert (1975) In My Time Of Dying, Jimmy plays a steel guitar, & man does he ever play it. Achilles Last Stand, is another killer song. These are just a few of their really amazing songs, & lives the solos are longer & better, & Plant adds to the vocals. They loved preforming live, though hated leaving their wives & kids for so long. Thanks for you reactions, oh with lives you may need to put something in front of them, like the words copyright. Their movie can be seen on KZbin, it’s called The Song Remains The Same, you can buy rent or watch free with with short ads it’s amazing.

Counterpoint: My opinion is that first time listens should be the studio versions. Then see them perform live. HEAR it first from the studio with best audio engineering and production quality, and musicianship. SEE the showmanship of the live performance when you are familiar enough with songs to recognize and appreciate the changes they make on stage.

Literally the first thing you hear from this band on vinyl if you were around at the time, as it opens the first album. Some suggest that it's a bit too similar to what the old Yardbirds (which they were formed to replace) were doing only months earlier, but the whole sound is beefed up with Plant and Bonham. And Jimmy's ability to make his psychedelic telecaster scream and growl is a great counterpoint.

The first song on the first album. this was the song that people first introduced to Zeppelin. And they knew from this song that something new and something special had arrived. Zeppelin was trashed by the critics. The. music press hated them. Especially Rolling Stone Magazine. Fortunately the people did not listen or care what the music press said. And the people knew more the music press because Zeppelin became the best band ever.
