The community workshop games server has some good info on map making. A lot goes into it, and you learn a lot more over time. Look at leths first maps, compared to his newest maps. Leths sister also helps making some of the models which is a whole separate topic in and of itself. Some of that skill cannot be taught. However, I DO agree, Leth should definitely make a quick tutorial video on making a RL map - just the basics. Creating a field. Creating spawns. Creating nets. Creating simple logic (push a button to add a point). Etc. One already exists, but at this point it's very old and doesn't include some of the "new" tips and tricks.
