One more important thing you should know “Safe” objects don’t mean harmless it just means that they are easily contained and typically don’t require a lot to keep them from getting out and possibly destroying reality.
@EverTheFractal
@EverTheFractal 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah like you can have an object that's safe and that you keep it out for staff to use but in the right conditions it could like melt everything in a 20 mile radius. Like the vending machine!
@TBear-pv1ex
@TBear-pv1ex 2 жыл бұрын
Explained/Neutralized/Safe/Euclid/Keter is more of a classification on how much knowledge is known about the object and the ease of ability to contain it. With Thaumiel and Apollyon being exceptions. Thaumiel can contain other objects and Apollyon being an object that cannot be actually contained (it can be falsely contained when not in an active state but in reality it is not contained at all). For instance 999 is the tickle monster that is capable of giving euphoria to others upon touch and is classified as Safe as it is puppylike in nature and is capable of understanding speech. Meaning if someone told it to get in a box or crate it would willingly do so. However granting euphoria does not mean it's harmless as anything something or someone does in the state of excitement will not be stopped by 999 and the state could lead to addiction like with psychoactive drugs. The newer Esoteric secondary/sub classification is more in depth to whether it is potentially harmful but it is mainly only used with the newer SCP objects.

Also Scp-999 is lovingly called the tickle monster by the foundation and the greater community it’s anomalous abilities cause people to feel great joy when playing and generally being around it and it’s one of the few SCP’s believed to actually have a great impact on people especially because it has been known to cure symptoms of depression and anxiety and is allowed to wonder freely in site 19 it also only eats sweet foods like candy and chocolates!

A PSA for the dragon story, if you’re ever in a large earthquake, do not move outside to “safe open spaces”, this is bad advice. Get under a sturdy table or desk away from potential falling hazards and hold on to the leg of the table so if it moves you move with it. Wait until the shaking stops before you come out. Do not run outside!
@ShadowPhoenix82
@ShadowPhoenix82 Жыл бұрын
Allow me to offer why. In an urban environment, you're losing shelter from falling buildings, poles, and debris. You're also away from foundations that could protect you in the event of sinkholes. Surely more reasons too, but since I don't respond well to "because I say so", I thought I'd offer why it's a bad idea and not just what to do instead. Thanks for your proper safety advice, @katinwelly 🥰

Since most of the SCPs in this game did not include their respective articles (I counted 28 SCPs total, 9 of which you read and 1... well, I'll get to that), I figured I'd give you a brief overview of the SCPs that were mentioned. Apologies in advance for the wall of text; that's just how I get sometimes about things I like. - First, there's the two mentioned in the rules on the right side of the computer that Karl uses throughout the game. *SCP-999,* The Tickle Monster, is this adorable blob of orange goo that eats sweets and loves to hug and tickle people. *SCP-343,* "God", is pretty self-explanatory. He's an immensely knowledgeable guy who loves to talk to people and looks like how one would picture the big man in the sky. - Next are the three SCPs mentioned in the scrolling bar at the top of the computer screen. *SCP-113,* The Gender-Switcher, does as you'd expect. The catch is that it hurts like hell. *SCP-191,* Cyborg Child, is a little girl with many body parts augmented or outright replaced with mechanical implants with varying purposes. *SCP-2338,* An Unorthodox Adoption, is actually three proposals consisting of a group of children with animal costumes fused to their bodies, an abnormally large jellyfish, and the jellyfish from before but with a little girl in an owl costume living in its bell. - After that is the SCP you saw in the first lecture, SCP-7457. Y'know, the one with the massive desert that spawns garbage everywhere and has a phone booth in the center that lures people in and wraps them up in bundles of cable? Yeah, it doesn't actually exist. GameZoo Studio, the devs for this game, must've come up with this one themselves because there is no SCP-7457 on the SCP site yet. EDIT 11/14/22: There is now an *SCP-7457,* and it's called Neanderthal's Essentials. It's a series of cave paintings that each have random effects on humans, some more dangerous than others. - Then comes the eight mentioned when you read the global news reports from various SCP site around the world. *SCP-994,* Some Silver Dishes, is a species of flying organisms vaguely resembling ceramic plates. *SCP-769,* Ancient Encyclopedia, is a pottery cup that, when you drink from it until it's empty, grants you considerable knowledge in a random subject. The downside is that the new knowledge replaces random memories you already had. *SCP-067,* The Artist's Pen, takes full control of your hand when you grab it and forcibly writes a highly detailed biography of you, though it can also make you create works of art. *SCP-2040,* The Iron Messenger, is a deceptively complex humanoid robot that claims to have come to Earth carrying a "primary message," but I'll leave it to you to find out what. *SCP-3170,* Only Acting, is an Indonesian actress named Yuliana Cahaya who, whenever she dies, is immediately replaced by essentially a stunt double, while Yuliana herself will reappear alive and unharmed nearby sometime later. *SCP-610,* The Flesh that Hates, is a virulent skin disease that causes growths resembling scar tissue to grow on the body, eventually mutating infected into horrifically misshapen creatures that seek out other humans to infect or root itself where it stands and spreads its growths to the surrounding area. *SCP-2285,* Cloudivores, are seven species of birds that look like existing birds. However, they are able to camouflage themselves, they require only condensed water vapor (i.e. clouds) for food, and they can create a vacuum with their impossibly strong lungs to suck up said clouds. *SCP-169,* The Leviathan, is a gargantuan marine arthropod whose rock-like plates protrude from the surface of the water like an archipelago, and it is also the source of the ultra-low-frequency underwater sound known as the "Bloop" (which, in reality, was caused by an icequake). - When you saw the footage of the woman experiencing SCP-701, The Hanged King's Tragedy, you picked up a plushie of *SCP-049,* Plague Doctor. Chat described his appearance and a basic idea of what it does, but his goal is to cure what he calls the "Pestilence", which he seems to accomplish by killing someone he thinks is infected with his death touch. He then performs surgery on the corpse which turns it into an instance of SCP-049-2, a zombie of sorts. On a side note, if you do get around to reading the original article, I think you'll find the first doctor who interviews 049 to be very... *familiar.* - You already know the gist of SCP-1762, Where The Dragons Went (the cardboard box that spawns tiny origami dragons), and you already read the articles for most of the rest of the SCPs in the game, so I'll just go for the four that were mentioned in the article for SCP-239, The Witch Child. *SCP-148,* The "Telekill" Alloy, is a metallic substance that can hinder or otherwise completely block an organism's mind-affecting properties, of which the Foundation wanted to make a weapon to kill the girl. *SCP-668,* 13" Chef's Knife, is a chef's knife that, when held by someone with violent intent, projects a psychic field that not only renders bystanders physically incapable of saving potential victims, but also makes victims incapable of defending themselves. This was mentioned in Dr. Clef's report when he suggested whoever holds the Telekill weapon to kill SCP-239 should also hold SCP-668 to, and I quote, "minimize complications". Dr. Clef also referenced *SCP-953,* Polymorphic Humanoid, a red fox with nine tails that can shapeshift into whatever it feels like (basically a kumiho, a creature in Korean folklore similar to the Japanese kitsune). - Last but not least, there's the one SCP mentioned in the very last seconds of the game when Marion Wheeler said, "we need to talk about fifty-five". *SCP-055,* [unknown], is... something. I could just spoil it for you now, but I suggest you find out for yourself. Also, please look at the rest of the SCP-261 article when you get a chance. You missed a good bit of information there.

Omg i saw the paper dragon and actually started to tear up knowing what was coming. I love 1762 so much. Also with object classes, it is based off of how easy it is to contain, not danger level. so a ball the kills you if you touch it can be considered "safe" because you can just lock it in a box and everythibg is fine, and on the flip side there is like 6113 that helps people at their lowest moment and saves them, but is considered "keter" because it can teleport and shift dimensions.

It's the perfect spooky mood for dark evenings.

For their first game, it was fantastic! I love the storytelling and filing aspects as well as all those different artistic ways of bringing those stories to life. I look forward to seeing what else they add to the game. Oh and yeah all the SCP stories are submitted to the Wikipedia page/ website to which they are added into the catalog of "known" SCPs. 😊

(Spoilers in case you haven't finished the video/game!) SCP-1762 always makes me cry and this game illustrates it perfectly. The childlike wonder in a universe full of death and despair it really is such a gorgeous story. It's so childish and wonderful and never fails to make me cry. I'm really glad this game included them :,)

I did the math and Mrs Wilson ate the equivalent of almost 25 LOAVES of bread. 16kg = 16,000 g Standard loaf at my local store is 650g 16000/650 ~ 24.6 loaves of bread Standard bread loaf is 22 slices and 2 end pieces for a total of 24 slices per loaf 24 loaves x 24 slices = 576 individual slices of bread THAT'S A LOT OF BREAD

The YT algorithm did us good. I do love horror content. This was a magnificent playthrough. I watched it in one sitting. I'm Icelandic so I hope fun facts and random info is something any of y'all like. Sigurrós is an Icelandic name, also the name of a pretty popular Icelandic post-rock band formed in 1994. So it'd sorta make sense if a Sigurrós fan named their daughter Sigurrós (if they exist/existed at all in that universe). Sigurrós' first album's cover 'Von' (Hope), released in 1997, depicts the face of the singer and frontman, Jónsi's sister, Inga when she was a baby. Also. Icelandic naming conventions. Stefánsdóttir would indicate Sigurrós is the daughter of Stefán, so her father would have to be Icelandic or of Icelandic descent. Out of curiousity I also did a quick search through 'The book of Icelanders' (Íslendingabók) and turns out, there is a Sigurrós Stefánsdóttir, born the same year, but her birthday is two months later. Just an interesting tidbit I guess. Anyway. Subbed. Extra info. In SCP: Secret files, a doctor describes Sigurrós as having blue eyes, which is very typical for Icelandic children. The SCP wiki however, describes her eyes as '"shimmering" a gray-green shade'. Also also. It's not exactly very typical for Icelanders who leave Iceland to keep up with the Icelandic naming conventions, especially in the US and Canada, so either Sigurrós' father was very strung on the naming convention, OR Sigurrós was actually born in Iceland and named accordingly. As an example. When my dad's sister got married to her American hubby, she added his family's name as her last name, but her dad's name as a suffix resulting in a name like Marie Johnson-Sigurðardóttir as an example. The SCP wiki mentions nothing of the sort in Sigurrós' case which kinda makes a fella wonder. Then again, it's all random tales from random people all around our magnificent planet. Though I do enjoy a deep dive on interesting topics.

The way the game as presented was definitely a lot like Control, which I think is very fitting for the idea of SCP, with agents working to protect the world from supernatural dangers it knows nothing about. I really like how the game built up the science of SCP, having the characters use different methods and tools (like the Reality Anchors) throughout the stories.

Fun fact: SCP actually stands for "Special Containment Procedures", Secure Contain Protect is the backronym motto. So the Foundation's full name is the Special Containment Procedures Foundation. 6:22 Ah, this. The lore goes deep but to summarise: while normal humans were off doing avreage human things during WW2, the 7th Occult War was secretly taking place. The war was fought between Ahnenerbe Obskurakorps, the paranormal branch of the Third Reich and the Allied Occult Initiative (the precursor to the modern Global Occult Coalition, an organisation funded by the UN and tasked with destroying all SCPs), with the help of the FBI's Unusual Incidents Unit. OBSKURA (as it would later be named) had the goal of collecting SCPs to help with the war effort and to perform the Rite of Solomon to make sure that of all humans, only Germany's higher ups could have supernatural powers. The war ended when the SCP Foundation joined the AOI's side and captured several of OBSKURA's leaders and raided their HQ. 47:46 Yes, for a few obvious reasons: the SCP is not fully understood and further testing is required, the trash must be contained so it doesn't flow into our world and the veil (normalcy, or keeping knowledge of the anomalous secret) must be maintained. Remember: the needs of the many ouweight the needs of the few.
