Right before covid_19 I decided I was not going to get a pedicure anymore because the place was beginning to get dirty unclean. I am just thinking about celebrating my birthday in January. I have decided that because of my past experience that I will be doing my own toes, fingernails and my hair. I will go get my eyebrows threaded from time to time. Some people just seem to care more about money than anything else.

When I would go get a pedicure, I hate they care much more about what color polish I want!! THAT'S not the most important thing to me!! Soak AND massage my feet and legs!! I agree on the cleanliness. I started to carry my own pedicure kit to the shop!! 🤣🤣 NOW my podiatrist clips and trims my nails!! 😉😉

My mom goes very regular & she's been a RN nurse for 40+ years & she's super duper fine with the rush. Her bffis a CRNP (nurse practitioner) & works for the doctor over the state of Alabama and he recommends to cut as much time as possible on public. I haven't been back to the nail salon since COVID (and I don't go regularly...I go every now and again) but, I don't like when they rush and yes... I do tip differently if I feel like they did more of a rush job. I'm glad you were able to enjoy your "Self Care Day". One thing I like to do for self care is write in my journal and reflect.

I actually love doing yoga or a 20-30 minute deep stretch workout, a bubble bath, some chocolate and a show/movie that I can’t watch with the kids. Lately, though, I don’t have time so what I do instead is a weekly coffee date-visiting a new to me coffee shop and just savoring it for an hour. With Covid, though, it’s a little hard finding(in some areas) a coffee place that allows inside seating. Still experimenting with this💁🏽‍♀️. This was awesome! Your husband really rounded out the day with those AMAZING sounding tacos 🤤

Yesss to self care day and came home to a nice cooked dinner? Sounds amazing! I use like going out to get my eyebrows done and I miss it haven’t been since Covid. I been learning to do my own and it’s learning curve but it’s working good enough since I only go into the office once a week during this time. My commute was 2 hours a day before Covid so I had to take self care days or I feel like I would crack. I would do my own pedicures since I had a issue with a nail place before and their sanitary issues:( , twist my own hair like you, even my workouts I consider self care. I also liked sitting in my backyard reading or enjoying a hot bath. My husband got me a nice wooden tray to go in there for our anniversary so I can read or watch my iPad with some wine in the tub. Me time is so needed.

That is something that I need to do more of. I do my hair myself because I style hair for a living but any more than that I feel like I'm overdoing it. I don't like to go get pedicures either really because I worry about the cleanliness of it all as well. I will have to make it a point to do more for myself though.

I love the nail color!! That’s crazzy how fast they did your feet. I went and got my nails 2 weeks ago and the lady did a good job but she did a fast job. And I did give a tip though. I’m glad you have a chance to have a day to yourself😁

I envy those who can get massages, pedicures n eyebrows plucked. I’m very, very, very ticklish. Anyone who even begins to come close to my back, arms, feet..... I crack up laughing. I can’t stay on the table or chair . I tried once for a pedicure, needless to say the lady ended up drenched in water from me kicking n splashing. Eye brows plucked I start shedding tears it hurts so bad. Any suggestions?

I'm glad you asked that question because me and myself I look at the time when they're doing my pedicure and if they don't give me all my time please believe me I do not give them a tip but if I'm satisfied with all the time that they took the time to do my feet and I know they gave me my whole 30 minutes or more then I will tip them $5 that's just me if you don't do what you supposed to do on my feet you not getting no tip cuz I have done that once in my life somebody didn't do like I wanted on my feet and I did not give him a tip I felt bad when I walked out of there but oh well that's my money just saying

I have my own snack box hidden in my closet like that's moms. It's my little treat cause I don't eat chocolate or drink pop. I love sour gummies so does my youngest so I have to sneak them up. If I want to get my nails done I have to take my youngest so I just stopped going and I do her here at home and my husband will be like ok im taking her upstairs get out before she knows. I have worked up until covid so I quit to teach my kids ar home and they wanted them to go back on January 19 and come to find out someone not sure if it's a teacher or student but came to school with covid. It's like nope I had to fight to keep them home. I got to the point to where I was just ready to pull them out of public distance learning and do private. Sorry for the rant.

As for the eyebrows from my end they look pretty good like doing it alone. As for me not a fan of nail bars but eyebrows definitely. I do must stuff alone most especially exfoliating my entire body. I'll time myself when I went and got a pedicure with my daughter couple of weeks ago it took them 35 minutes and I was pleased so if they don't go at least 30 to 35 minutes they cheating you and you can look at the sign it tells you how long they have to do for whatever pedicure you getting if you get in the one with the hot wax and should take at least 30 minutes and if it don't let them know they cheated you and don't go back to them just saying

I love getting my feet done. There’s a great shop in Atlanta, GA called THE NAIL SHOP. It is the best. It’s clean. Their equipment is sanitized after each use and once the tech begins it takes about 30 minutes. I’ve been to other shops and they paled in comparison. If they aren’t sanitary, I never repeat. I haven’t had my feet done sine COVID-19. I just don’t want anyone in my space that way.
