I drive a '98 Chevy full-size pickup with the 4.3 V6 to work every day and I have fun driving it. A fun car doesn't have to be an expensive car or a fast car, it's just about how it makes you feel.

Dude! I drive a ‘98 OBS Silverado! They’re super fun man. I got the 5.7 but it’s 2WD. It ain’t fancy but it sure is fun!

imo if you can have a fun daily driver then it's the best case scenario, maybe make the exhaust louder, drive manual, mod a turbo into it idk some small detail that makes you daily more fun, instead of driving a "dream car" every day... it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow

Get a miata and do some vods of working on it? Maybe some Luxury mods? Don't see that very often. By the way when you were talking about dreaming of owning a Pagani... Its just that... a dream. Its the reality and what we make of it that's what we want and is what we should cherish. Weather you drive a Veloster or a GLS everyone has dreams.

In similiar vane, how about making the most driveable/enjoyable car? Not too heavy (like under 1500kg), possibly a coupé, very good handling, around 200-300 bhp, probably inline 6 for that nice sound with a 6-speed manual for the "purity" and simple yet good looking styling.

Hey you should definitely check out a honda accord 2.0T its a fun enough car to keep ya engaged but you can still relax on the way home. 25mpg stock or 25mpg with premium if you go for a tune. My touring is for sale if you want, cooled seats, adaptive suspension, heads up display, etc...

a bought a 1996 volvo 944 turbo m90 5-speed manual 5 years ago, nowdays that car has been moddified to be able to give roughly 250hp on stock internals, so it works as a daily and has some more power for when i want to use it, it is usualy it eats 0,8 to 1,2 metric liters of 95 octane fuel per 10 km, soo sorta a gas gussler but gives it back in reliability

Bit of an old man compared to several responders here. I've had the fun car as my only car, crusty crappy ones with big dreams or nice ones that are great as is. Ive had a few just solid dailies that are meh to drive but easy on the body and wallet. With the time and distance you're putting in, do yourself a favor and skew towards comfort and minimal maintenance needs/cost. Sure, try to find something as entertaining as you can in there, but truly fun (sporty) cars tend to get tiring to drive after a long day of work, need more expensive wear items as the miles pile on, and you're going to be more annoyed by every rock chip and door ding in the fun car. A late model Accord, Mazda6, subarus, etc can get decent mpg's a bit fun to drive but are going to chew up long drives with minimal hassle. A few years of a solid daily with few needs and you can go buy that fun Friday/weekend car and save it for when you really have that want for a more engaging drive.

maybe what you’re looking for is an F30 or G20 330e M-Sport? they’re good on gas being a hybrid and all, and pretty fun to drive. or a 340i if you’re feeling a lil more spicy, the F30 340s come with a 6-speed manual too.

I know this proposition could be noisy and shipped from EU market but it was first car i ever drove, second gen Mitsubishi Pajero with 2.5 turbodiesel that sounded like bus and car was big in European terms of size but It got that vibe of driving even a tank as it easily defeats hatchbacks at parking (dad almost destroyed small peugeot) and is very reliable, only needs to be taken care of body in terms of corosion as every japanese car

I'm also in the 3 car boat with you, truck, project, and daily. I was dailying a manual e90 335i for a while, but it was way too unreliable, so I ditched it for a 2019 GTI with the DCT. Great jack of all trades daily. Its fun to drive, but can also be put in comfort mode and putted to work on days where you're not In the go fast mood. It does take 93, but it gets pretty good gas mileage (I got 42.4 average on a 7h road trip), and its not too expensive to boot. I was also considering the is350 f sport, but strongly disliked it when I test drove it, it feels severely underpowered for a "sporty" car. I also have a 45ish minute commute, and the fun factor of my daily is very much worth the small sacrifices to me.

I know I'm a month late to the discussion, but owing my "dream" car is basically impossible ( EU guy in a heavy regulated car laws country), so a fun car would be great. One that I can use around the city but have fun with in corners around the mountain areas and all the curvy back roads. I also love older cars that are boxy, so a Volvo v70, a cheap BMW, a Mazda mx-5 or even something like a tuned Dacia Solenza ( not engine wise cuz of laws, mostly suspension and body work to make it mint) that you can take a corner at 90km/h and have it at 5000 rpm is something beautiful. Make the city car work for it, and if it breaks its cheap to repair.

i’m 17 with one of my dream cars a daily reliable truck and a motorcycle but none of them are perfect by any means and they require work but that’s the love hate relationship if you truly have a passion for cars so i think if you can get an affordable dream car that you want you can learn and experience more than the average person and take it to car events and make videos with it too

Bro. Infiniti is... Oookkkk... Ig? But I drove 74 miles each day to and from work. In a 2004 TL and I had to use 93 instead the 91 octane it called for. But thats due to lack of availability. But I could easily get ~35-50mpg through city, highway, and backroads. Consistently. But was still a super fun and comfy car. Comes down to choosing the right car. And driving right. 1/2 of my route was backroads with some pretty good hills. Granted it was mostly a 40-50mph speed limit. But once I got off the highway and got about 2 miles down the backroad? It went from 32-34mpg. To over 50mpg. A limit of the active economy monitor. Still. With a 3.2L? Stoopid economic. And that car would still dust a G35X. G37/X was a hit or miss thanks to the displacement difference. Lmmfao.

I'm very boring when it comes to what I want from a car irl: -station wagon -very fuel efficient if gas or a hybrid/electric -a mostly physical dash I can use without looking at it -AC that wont break in the summer >:C -Backup camera, collision detectors, and blindspot indicators -headlights that wont blind other people -not huge so I can park easy -made by unionized workers -cheap As for a dream car? The same thing but I want a FWD engine and an electric RWD and importantly be able to run both at the same time for a performance mode, just electric if I wanna save fuel, or just engine if I run out of electricity. Like let me add them up to like 600+HP lol. AFAIK, none of the hybrid engine+electric cars have that kindof setup that essentially lets you add the two together like that.

Right now my daily is a 94 pontiac sunbird with a whopping 99 ish horsepower with a manual 5 speed and I love pushing it to its limits. I only paid $250 for it and is completely stock with the exception of some farmer fixes (zip ties holding my clutch pedal together) but otherwise it's been real good to me. I've been saving my money and being really patient waiting for the right late 90s chevy truck to make my forever work truck I think a new corolla trd would be a really cool car as a new dad, they're fast, they look pretty good and being a corolla it is very family friendly. I'm not sure if it's in your price range but it's a good idea. When I settle down eventually and need a family car I think I'll look for a ford focus rs, although rare it would be a fun family vehicle or maybe even a chevy SS, basically a 4 door camaro.

If i was you, i'd buy something fun, but still semi-practical. Like an above average 4 door sedan or hatchback. Imagine a ford focus, toyota gr yaris, or even one of so many used lexus and bmws, not the highest priced models like a m3 gtr, but something in the middle, that you can have fun if you modify it a bit, but can still just use as a family car/daily if needed

Bro. If the stang is making you think of it. Get it. If you decide to get it after a while, chances are it's gonna be gone. You will enjoy driving that thing to work and even for a Sunday drive. As long as you don't push it hard every day, if you don't try to race it hard and if you take good care of it and clean it once a month, you'll find yourself attached to that car. You'll see it as your baby, you want to love the car you drive. My opinion, get that Mustang. Treat yourself and have a bit of fun once every while.

It's a different experience when you behind the wheel of a car. It's way better when the car is from the 70's and under (some cars from the 80s and 90s). It makes you feel like you are DRIVING the car instead of being in a car under your control. When it's an older car you have to work it. You have to be one with the car in a way. You have to learn you car, the boundaries and limits and the sweet spots.you have to make the car turn, you have to make the car change gear, you have to tell the car what to do. Instead of just sitting in a car that dose half the work for you. As a car enthusiasts, we believe that a car has to make you fell alive. Along with its style and performance. To sum it up, I and many others say that a car should make you feel alive and happy and put down the performance you wanted and dreamed of, it's gotta have the style that makes you smile when you look back at it and it's gotta have its history and it's heritage. Sorry this was a bit long.

I feel like you shouldn´t buy a car just because you think you schould be driving that car for who you are. You should buy a car because you want it and would have fun with it. If a hybrid RAV 4 is want you want to drive as a daily then why buy something else when you already own the car. There are alot of enthusiast cars that are fun to drive, comfortable and dont have bad Fuel Economy like old european or japanese middle class sedans (W211,F10, E60, W204, A4B8,...) those maybe suffer from some reliability issues tho.:( Just drive what you want and dont drive cars for other people! I always enjoy watching your Videos keep going!

i feel like i struck a perfect car for this scenario. i daily a 2007 volvo s60 r 6 speed manual. the 2 best things about it probally are 1 the active shocks that have 3 different settings. so you can have decent coushy suspension or really stiff. 2 it can run off of multiple grades of fuel. you want to be cheap? itll take 85 and tune itself to be good for it but low power. want to have fun? fill it with 93 n let its suposed 300 hp rip. i honnestly never understuud the point of a sports lugury car till i first test drove my s60 r n fell in love with it. so from my experience the solution to this problem is a car that can adjust on the fly. something with active suspension and a mode selevt can go a long way

If you are seriously looking at a GT500 and thinking it will be cheaper to fix than an exotic car, do some more research. They are definitely *not* cheap to fix, and maybe only marginally cheaper to fix than something like an MB, BMW or Audi. I have a 1hr daily commute and I can tell you, the route you drive home is way, way more important than what you're driving. Driving an exciting car on the freeway is still really boring. I intentionally take the back roads home, even though it adds some time to my trip, because its way more interesting, even in the electric SUV I drive every day (which is not a boring car btw).
