(They won of course) The drummer's not a girl though. His name's Ethan( he's 21). The others are Damiano(vocalist, age 22), victoria (bass, age 21) and Thomas (lead guitar, age 20).

Måneskin (Danish for Moonlight) are from Rome, Italy. They have only been officially together since 2016 but were formed the year before by Damiano, Thomas and Victoria who were in high school together and Ethan joined shortly after when they put out a call for a drummer. They are 4 young adults that range in age from 20 to 22. The vocalist is Damiano David who is 22, the bassist is Victoria de Angelis 21, guitarist Thomas Raggi 20 and the beautiful Ethan Torchio 21. Only a year after they formed they placed second in X factor Italia. They proceeded to win Sanremo Music Festival in 2021 and they won Eurovision in 2021 as well. They have exploded since and I think they are a much needed change to the music world. I am hoping they have a long and successful career.

Best young rock band in the world! With Damiano, the best young front man. Loved the reaction. These guys are fantastic musicians and so in sync. They can do a bunch of sounds, including funk, reggae and ballads. Ultimately just great stuff. Damiano writes the lyrics, the rest of the band the music. Try For Your Love and then maybe a ballad like Torna a Casa or Coraline. The latter is a true masterpiece, but is in Italian with translation videos available and is very heavy and dark. A totally different vibe that shows their genius.

Maneskin (pronounced like Moh - nah - skin) is an Italian group - they do about half their songs in English and about half in Italian - and they have a lot of great songs in both languages. Maneskin's music focuses a lot on political/LGBTQ+ issues (Both of these songs, for example, with I wanna be your slave both focusing on love and sexuality and Zitti E buoni focusing on issues with conformity in society) The drummer is Ethan, who is in fact a male with long hair, and the lead singer is Damiano, who gets part of his raspy voice from smoking. The bass is Victoria and the lead guitar is Thomas. Victoria is half Danish and it's said in one of the band's interviews that the name Maneskin is a throwback to her heritage.

Tonight they will be in New York, at the Bowery Ballroom. on November 1 Roxy Theater in Los Angeles and, on November 6, will open the Rolling Stones concert in Las Vegas. Until this spring, they were really famous only in Italy. Now they are globally, also thanks to their cover of "Beggin" that they realised in 2017, when they were 16 to 18 years old. They write songs in both Italian and English, always rock in every possible declination. Although their mood in English is very different from that in Italian, usually more poetic and deep. They have already released an EP and two albums, the third is expected by the end of the year.

Like many people, Italians and non, I became obsessed with Måneskin. Check out Torna casa, Morirò da re, Coraline and obviously Zitti e buoni (in Italian) or Beggin. Anyway it's pronounced Ma (like in mum) - ne (with the "e" of well) - skin, and means "moonlight" in Danish (actually that's how they say it in Italian, idk if in Danish it's different heh).
