You should check the glove box for the trunk release or maybe use the key. The emblem on the trunk moves and the lock is there. Also they did have power mirrors in the 70's. The car can go over 80 or 85.

Did you happen to see the little black button in the glove box? That’s the remote for the trunk. And can you believe that power windows started way way back in the 1940s?! Duh. 🙄🙄

The best PLV cars built in the 70's. PLV, personal luxury vehicle. People who bought them wasn't concerned about the price of fuel. The car you are showing was a $16 - 17k automobile. However your fro fits into the disco era also.

The Lincoln Continental Coupe was always longer than the Mark V. The 1974 Lincoln Continental Mark IV and standard Lincoln Continental were close to 5300 lbs...they were the heaviest Lincolns of the 1970s. The 1978 Mark V had a curb weight of 4650 with the standard 400 V-8. Yes, that is the standard no extra cost interior in a material called Ultravelour cloth...the color is Jade but there were other colors. The 400 V-8 used in the 1977 Lincolns had 179 horsepower but that was reduced in 1978 to 166 horsepower...that is why the 460 V-8 is now more desirable. The keyhole on the decklid is concealed behind the Continental star emblem....that emblem pivots when pushed and then insert the key with the round fob. Power seats were available on Fords and Chevrolets beginning in the mid-1950s but were rarely ordered. That is actually an 85 mph speedometer which was mandated by the federal government at that time but this car could easily go over 100 mph. That is not a bench seat but a 50-50 split with both driver and passenger sides independently adjustable. Opera windows in the C-pillar.

...oh, yeah, David!! This Is the ultimate Personal Luxury Car...the only engine alternative in the 460cid V8 would have made it " the bomb"...but the 400cid would give the owner 3-4 extra mpg's (from 9-10 on the 460, to 12-14 for the 400...)...if you had the scratch to purchase one, the gas mileage was rather irrelevant... ...that irridescent interior was called Jade...and the fabric is known as "Ultravelour"...one must bear in mind that cocaine was quite fashionable at this time...I'm convinced the color stylists were hallucinating when this green was selected... ...and just an FYI, nearly all luxury cars of the day featured a remote in the glovebox...and the rounded oval key fits the trunk lock...

@@FinishLineFactory Continental aficionados love to play expert, that was a very unusual green interior. Just the vinyl would cost a chunk to recolor... Sometimes you must. But the seats are certainly original. It was the Mark IV that weighed 5400, unless this one came with bodies in the trunk from Ford... You never know. That's why the secret lock! I am very familiar with these Fords, I believe the Mark IV actually used 'laminated steel' that is why it was actually about 600lbs heavier and quieter than the Mark V. Strange because that was more recent technology, Ford is quiet on that... Of course it would also have been cheaper, so they are very secretive. The IVs also had rust issue on spot weld and molding attachment points, that would indicate laminated steel with humidity issues. Yes your 'fro' looks fine but don't test convertibles, you'll look like a Poodle in a hurricane ;-) Cheers 🍻
