When Brent said “I’m a good person”, he looks around a bit and realized that he doesn’t have any proof to back his claim. In the past episodes, he basically said “I’m a good person because I went to the good place”, but now after Eleanor & Michael told him he’s actually in the bad place, he can’t use that excuse anymore. It is at this point he realized that he truly is a bad person and quickly make amends to Chidi. Although they both know they’re going to be tortured soon, he still apologized anyway instead of thinking about himself. This shows that he’s starting to care about other people’s feeling, a last-minute improvement they all desperately needed

@@T12321H Remember though, the point of this experiment was to see IF humans had the ability to change even after they died. Even though it came down to the wire, the fact that he got out 90% of the "Sorry" shows that in his head he had already processed through the information he just learned and was in the process of showing how he could in fact change for the better. Also, in regards to Mindy - since she was put in the Medium Place before all of this testing occurred, assuming that this experiment is a success, she should be first in line to go to the real Good Place. In fact, since apparently no humans have qualified to go to the Good Place for hundreds of years, one could make a proper argument that Mindy is the "goodest" Human to exist in centuries. I've been starting to suspect that myself. I'd guess Chidi is still being scored as well as part of the original group. He's actually acting pretty decisive which is huge for him, Tahani has had a major moment of learning not to compare herself to others with how things went with her and Elinor, Jason has started to get some level of reflection going. Elinor has been talking about saving humanity and has dealt with major personal sacrifice by letting go of Chidi. It fits better for the show to be hanging on the growth of our original cast.

Jearimy Bearimy is how time works in the after life, which affects earth way differently, which is how Michael could rescue the humans on earth So if they are measuring time in earth time, and not Jearimy Bearimy, then Jearimy Bearimy will affect Earth time in the afterlife the same way it affects earth time on earth, which is, events happen before ones that have happened before. Basically idk how it will work, but it will work if they do it.

Brent struggling to comprehend at first what Chidi said, and still insisting that he's a good person even though the recent revelations says otherwise made be believe that he's not being a bad person just to be bad. He just doesn't know any better. Now this doesn't excuse his actions, in life and the afterlife, but it reaffirms the gang's realization that the points system is inherently broken because Earth made it almost impossible for people to change organically and evolve into better persons.

This was probably one of the greatest endings of any episode, for me. The premise has finally been blown up! I love how Eleanor and Michael just kind of said to themselves that the premise hadn't been blown up in ages, so they decided: 'Fine. We'll do it, Ourselves.' I love how the credits rolled, just as Eleanor, and Michael left them for the final-minutes; The crew begging and pleading, in that final minute, was so reflective of how I was begging and pleading for the show to just not suddenly end. I didn't want this episode to end on another Cliffhanger, if the experiment wasn't over yet. I wanted it to be over. And it is! Finally! And, of course, does Brent get points for his apology, if he technically didn't say the Full-Word: 'Sorry?'

@@seannanana84 I mean, Yes; He'd have to get points for feeling regret, and sorrow. However, Remember; The whole reason the point system is screwed up, is because it doesn't focus enough on intention, and looks mainly at the consequences of the action. I'm fairly certain the judge is going to come down next episode, and claimed that they were 1 point away. The one point that could have been saved, if the experiment just went on 1 second longer.

He'll get credit, and get a couple points of improvement. The problem that no one seems to be mentioning is Simone. She wasn't a terrible person, but she made no improvement at all. She's still the same person who makes snap judgements that accurately capture the surface of those around her, and never changes her mind or looks deeper to see why.
@carealoo7445 жыл бұрын
@@jamesedjones Yes. However, I'm still confused as to Why this isn't already a guaranteed win. Isn't the whole reason everyone is ending up in The Bad-Place, is because of the unintended consequences? Aren't they removed here? Also, I just got to say this, but I cannot express, how much I hate that line, The Judge said, about how The Bad-Place got to pick the People, for the experiment. Seriously; I can't be the only one who shouted bull-crap at my T.V., the moment she said that. Why? No, Why? Why so The Bad-Place get to pick the People? Give me 1 Good-Reason, why it's a good-idea to even bring The Bad-Place into this. They are Liars. They were well-aware no one had entered The Good-Place in 521 Years, and they never Told you. They do not deserve an advantage. Not only That, but why doesn't Michael get to choose the Humans? The only reason I can possibly imagine this Being the Case, is because he might choose humans that are Already-Good. But, That is Not and Excuse. Isn't the Whole-Reason we're doing this experiment, is to see if the Point-System has screwed People over? It would feel like I waste, If we chose people that are already, relatively-bad.

Man, i teared a little at the last seconds of Brent. After Chidi said "you are a bad person!" And when he finally realised he was a bad person, especially to the person he has saved him despite Brent being especially terrible to him, and when he genuinely felt bad for being such a horrible person and actually wanted to apologize to the only person he saw as a friend. I don't know, that made me incredibly sad and happy at the same time. And i actually i really liked Brent (as a character) just because of this. One of my favorite scenes in The Good Place.

Honestly, that's how I've been feeling for quite a while now. But, this is the first time I am Happy to wait. This show has built its reputation, as: 'The Show that blows-up its premise, every few Episodes.' I love it when anyone who hasn't seen the show before, asks me: 'What's it about?' I basically pulling Michael evil laugh. Because, there really is nothing you can say. What, you can tell them that it's about a girl called Eleanor, that accidentally finds herself in the good place, when she was actually a bad person, and she tries to improve herself, without being caught. But, that doesn't do the show Justice, at all! Whenever I say that, the people just don't seem that interested, so I'm forced to tell them the Season 1 twist, and then I greet them the next day, saying that they've been changed the entirety of Season 1 last night. Episodes 2, 3, and 6, we're all exactly what I expected. And episode 5, was worse than I expected. This was the first episode, where a Twist finally happened, and this time, there is no way that they're just going to undo it, like they did an Episode 5. I felt so underwhelmed, at the end of each episode oh, this Season. I felt like I had just waited a whole week, just to see if the same crap all over again. and there was a good chance that I was just going to end up waiting another week, for the same, Again. This is the first time, that were actually moving on; And I am Happy to Wait, This-Time.

Just to let you know, I'm calling it that they are all 1-Point away from the threshold, and they are at least going to Ask The Judge, to let the experiment run for 1 more Second, so Brent can finish his apology. I also predict that The Judge is going to partially ignore the results, even if they are good, and point out that Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, Jason, Michael, and Janet, have all depended on Lying, to improve the humans. I know this would be a ridiculous thing for The Judge to say, as if they told the new humans the truth, that would have corrupted their motivations on the spot. However, The Judge has proven herself to be nothing but forking idiot, from the very beginning. (I remind you, she is, supposedly, the inventor of The Bad-Place; That is literally, the Worst-Thing, any being could do.) (Maybe The Judge is the Ultimate-Deamon.) I'm also calling that Bad-Janet, due to her being rebooted like 4,000 times or something, is going to read the manifesto, and bust in at the last second, to claim that they are judging humans all wrong. If Demons can improve, why can't Bad-Janets? Rebooting them, literally, supposedly, Improves them. I also want to call, that the final twist is that this whole show has been entirely in either Eleanor, or Michael's Head. And this is what they are seeing, right before they die, a Human, on Earth. Both Eleanor, and Michael, have gone through a bigger Character-Journey, than anyone else. And the Final-Twist is that they were both bad people on Earth, and are having this Ultimate-Vision of improving, in the Final-Seconds before they die. There is no afterlife, and I feel that the Moral of this Story would be that we only have a limited amount of time on Earth. While it is unlikely, I feel like the Show has so far given the message that while you should try to improve, you have plenty of time to do it in the afterlife, so why bother, on Earth? Since people theorize that this whole Medium-Place experiment is going to become the default Place for humans go, to see if they can improve or not, that seems more Certain than Anything. The moral of the story is that you don't have all the time in the world, to improve. It's best to try and do it now, before you die, and Lights-Out.
