How even is the burn pattern on it. For example do you see a small ring of bubbles in the centre of the pot when it starts to boil or is the heat even across the surface? Also how is it with low heat. Eg. Does it pulse on and off like some of the cheaper induction units or does it maintain a constant power?
@AdventuresofCarlienne

Hi and thanks for the comment! The burn pattern is pretty even at the boil and for lower temperatures yes it does cycle on and off similar to microwaves to heat gently which is normal. You can hear the cycle but I haven’t found it to mess with the cooking.

Thank you very much for the video. There are some comments on Amazon about a very annoying sound at higher heating levels, 8, 9, 10. Have you had problems with this loud sound?
@AdventuresofCarlienne
@AdventuresofCarlienne Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! There is a high pitched ring. though with sizzling and boiling of the pots and pans we personally dont find it annoying or very loud. We also haven't experienced any issues with the induction burner from the sound either. Really hope that helps!

Hey, great video. Very knowlegeable. I just bought one, and ordered a second. Been thinking of buying a 2 burner unit, but not sure how they would work. great job!!

What’s the biggest size pan you can use on it? I see that these portable burners, specifically other duxtop ones, have 6” to maximum 8” diameter coils (circles). That’s small and means you can’t use a pan with a bigger cooking surface
@AdventuresofCarlienne

Great question Mike. The glass top measures about 11x11" and the outer ring that they call "cookware alignment guide" measures 8.25" in diameter. With induction cooking, it should still be able to heat up a larger pan, but probably not as efficiently. So I think it would really depend on what kind of cooking you need to do with the larger sized pan. I imagine if you didn't need super high heats, you could get away with using a larger pan on this particular stove. Unfortunately we don't haven't tested any pots or pans larger than 11" on this burner.

hello sir. just wondering if you know the differences from the commercial vs the say common 8500st? I've used 8500st extensively at work but never tried the commercial.
@AdventuresofCarlienne
@AdventuresofCarlienne 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Victor! Thanks for watching and for your comment. I haven’t had any in person testing with the 8500st as I went straight towards the commercial version and compared it to other ones that were geared for commercial work. I do know that 8500st is smaller and lighter. It does not have as many temperature or level control settings as the commercial, 15 vs the commercial’s 20. Also the timer on the 8500st is only 170 minutes and the commercial is a 10hour timer. I’m not sure the amount of weight the 8500st can handle but the commercial is up to 65lb. I personally really like the 5 extra power and temperature levels, I don’t mind the weight and the long timer is really nice for making stocks. If you cook or simmer things for a long time then the commercial would be the way to go but if not then the 8500st would be more than enough and at half the cost!

Hey man thanks for the vid, how often do you use this and how has it been holding up long term?

Thank you so much and an enormous apology for not replying sooner. We use this thing every day all day. So far its been doing really well. There is a high pitched ring somtimes to the unit at higher levels but with all the sounds from the pots and pans we dont find it annoying or very loud. We're aware of some of the reviews talking about it so it may be our unit itself isnt as loud as others. Really hope that helps and we're so sorry for such a late reply.

there are lots of complaints about the fan being noisy. Do you notice that?
@AdventuresofCarlienne
@AdventuresofCarlienne 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! The fan is loud but not anything to really complain about. Boiling water or the sizzle of whatever you're cooking definitely is louder than the fan. Also, this is an incredibly powerful machine so a strong fan is a good thing! .

Does that stainless steel look is it really steel or is it plastic that looks like steel, Because my only beef with this brand and a cheaper unit is that it started to melt the plastic in the back of the unit which is very disappointing
@AdventuresofCarlienne
@AdventuresofCarlienne 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Diana! The parts are stainless steel. We’ve been using it for a few years now through pretty hard testing and have no issues with melting or visible wear on any parts of the cooktop.

Do you have inductive cooktops for Japan?
@AdventuresofCarlienne
@AdventuresofCarlienne Жыл бұрын
Hi Gabel, thanks for your question. Yes they definitely use induction cooking in Japan, we don't know how common portable induction stovetops are specifically, but many apartment kitchens in Japan are induction heating. Hope that helps!
@AdventuresofCarlienne
@AdventuresofCarlienne Жыл бұрын
Sorry Gabel, just realized that might not have been your question. We're not familiar with the actual induction stovetop market for Japan specifically, but a quick search shows that Amazon Japan definitely offers some and they shouldn't be too difficult to find. Good luck!

I put this in my Amazon cart to show my wife, next day it was no longer available. Can't find it anywhere. Aparently Duxtops next model down is very inaccurate in heat regulation. Looking at a Waring commercial WIC200 now.
