Wow! A display like that on a machine that expensive is just bad imo. Personally I had experiences with several HP laptops at various price points. And now after those I just avoid anything from HP. My favourite anecdote is when an Envy x360's hinge broke as I was opening the laptop, cracking the screen in the process. Mind you, the laptop had less than a year. But the reason for the failure was that in a laptop with an all-aluminum body the hinges were screwed (with metal screws) to a hard plastic plate, that broke. And all the other laptops were plagued with issues that made me feel like I was being scammed every time. And don't get me started on printers.

This is a strange laptop to recommend. It is running a 13th Gen chip with Xe which is not competitive for the current market, it goes over 2k, has a mediocre display and peak brightness. 12 Hours of battery life is also not particularly impressive in markets with things like the MacBook Air. This is actually a terrible deal.
@koalaunknown11 ай бұрын
So the MacBook Air (which is generally regarded as overpriced) has 4 p-cores instead of 2, a real gpu, a better display, a better trackpad, and better battery life while this has more io and a slightly better keyboard. Even with the price cut, I fail to see how this laptop justifies its price.

One suggestion, if I may make some: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, add the hosters usecase MORE specific. My bet on this laptop, ITS CRAP IN ANY HAEVY LOAD. That should be clear to any viewer. Any heavy load means to me (sysadmin): - running docker desktop with several containers - running wireshark - running browser (prefferably firefox, cause chromium sucks) with several tabs open, one of which with a youtube video - console open; terminal with powershell & wsl2 - outlook open - teams open (the new one, cause the old one sucks) - notepad++ open (like anyone closes this ever)

watching these laptop reviews over the last few years just makes me miss large screen laptops. I'm visually impaired and in most cases even a 15' screen is just to small for me. you used to be able to get 17' or larger laptops but they stopped making them in favor of tiny 13' models. They need to bring back the larger screen laptops.

What was this? this "Review" is completely all over the Place. completely making "This is the Best Laptop (for me)" over nothing and then just discarding discrepancies. for example: The display is 192x1820 and then Alex says "... you should stick (with that display) it gets you 3x to 4x" of battery life, but then when it comes to testing the battery the test at 1@15:28 the battery test was mixed with endurance for some reason and it was a KZbin playback at '720p' with half the screen brightness and a prime95 run. Those tests are completely unrelated even between themselves and second, why is a good test for a FullHD laptop with a 720p video? why not take the actual FullHD video at perhaps that half brightness and then at full brightness? the two bars are just one really big and one really small what does that convey against other HP or professional laptops? Then at @13:13 Alex compares the speakers of both computers and says "It's the same" when it's clearly not, you can hear it, and if it is because of the mic why not put an asterisk saying something like "The effect of the recording may distort the sound"? you can hear the older model is clearer, that was just baffling. Then the part about upgradeability when says "not fantastic" is very strange because you can only change one thing when in most laptops even HP laptops you can at least upgrade two parts, the RAM and the SSD, and on top of that he even says that the SSD may be encrypted out of the box (or hints at that), so only one component? I think I will change the word from "not fantastic" to "almost none". This is just not the way to review a Laptop and something aimed as an option for professionals, if that were the case then why at least not put more effort into the review?

I watch these videos because I am a novice, because I don't already know everything there is to know about computers and I want to learn. And then in the videos they just address the viewer as if they already know by saying, "Oh ya and of course you'll want to disable X, Y, or Z setting or else you'll destroy your whole computer." And then they move on without even explaining anything further. It's infuriating cuz then I have to do a google search or watch an entire other video about that topic. This is supposed to be Tech TIPS, for beginners, right?? Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
