ichigo was afraid to use his zangetsu' actual power more than once during that fight or on anyone because of his hollow trying to take over his soul because it sensed that he was afraid of it. The reason grimjow was even there was because he wanted to get rid of anyone who had even a shred of spiritual power regardless of if they could fight or not which conflicted with the way he acted in only wanting to kill someone who was a match for him. personally grimjow seems kinda lacking if he really felt he had to kill anyone with even a shred of small power. that's just me though
