In Today's video I head down to Motech Performance to get one of the best modifications for the BMW M140i that money can buy. The Stance plus package which consists of Motech's own springs & spacers, 30mm drop at the front and 25mm at the rear. The car has completely transformed and now looks epic!!

Ive just ordered a set of b14 adjustable height coilovers, i like the look of the stance kit, but it still uses stock dampers which are a serious let down on this car, the springs alone wont resolve that problem, its near enough double the price but worth it in my opinion.

Looks amazing. I went for the standard stance over the stance+ as I was worried about my front splitter catching on speed bumps. How is your splitter holding up after a year of use?

Do motech check the tracking after lowering springs fitted? Also what about risk of bottoming underside of car with reduced ground clearance?

David Palmer they don’t initially as you’ll need to wait for the springs to bed in for a while, but they have recommended doing it after a few hundred miles. And in regards to the underside, it isn’t low enough for that. It had a similar kind of stance to a standard m2 comp

Glad you are happy bruv, it’s just occurred to me should have chalk lined your headlamp main beams on your garage door then could have realigned them back to same marked position with the screw adjusters, lamps will be throwing low if not re adjusted, Halfords failed an MOT on one of mine after EIBACH Springs 😬

Not sure what to do with mine, could upgrade my pcp for an M2 comp, they have come down allot in price lately. To get the 140i to where I want it to be will be springs, spacers, lsd, that circa 3-4K, uplift on pcp would be less than that. May as well get an M2

How would this or even other Motech products affect the bmw warranty the pcp/finance of the car??

If anything, the only thing it may effect is just the suspension side of the warranty. Have to remember TRL berry BMW were actually selling this cars with these setups

mirin jawbro honestly, the b12 setup is a bit more serious. For country lanes, I think anymore stiffness then this setup will just unbalance the car. I’m the same kind of area, they’re not the smoothest of roads let’s face it. Motech stance plus you’ll be more than satisfied with for sure

Springs alone do little for the M140i. It's only when you fit a B12 that you realise how wrong you are. Trust me, been there, waisted that money and done that. B12 for £600+fitting from Autodoc which is Eibach Pro Springs & Bilstein B8 shocks. It's mainly down to the skinny little shockers.

@@realtorque if you have Eibach Pro's fitted yes. Motech stance is 5mm lower at the front. The B12 kit is Eibach Pro's and Bilstein B8 shocks when you compare standard skinny shocks with the beefy B8's you'll understand why our cars wallow around terribly in standard form.

Looks really good - I just think the rear spacer are a bit too big: I’d choose 12mm instead of 15mm at the rear, will look better and it also should reduce the understeer behavior a bit as well

REAL TORQUE OK - fine if you like it. 15mm at the rear is just a bit too much for my eyes cause it looks obviously modified with it, that’s just not my personal taste. And even wider track size at the rear will increase understeering even more, that’s why Birds only added spacer at the front. Maybe you can ask Motech why they chose bigger spacer at the rear
