The Takstar SC-M1 is the best audio interface for your studio or for live-streaming. A great tool for gamers and podcasters because of all the sound effects at your fingertips and it has a 10 hour battery life. This has got to be the best budget audio mixer under $150! It supplies 48 volts of phantom power, easily powering the Rode PodMic. Could this be the new Maonocaster killer? Please watch the video and let me know what you think.

Thanks for all you do Tammy (even the scary voice at the end!) :) I think the Rode Podmic is dynamic, so wouldn't need +48v phantom... no?

Actually I do run my Podmic thru the maonocaster lite.I run an xlr cable from the Podmic to the mic input of my Presonus pre amp and then run the supplied xlr to line cable from the output of the preamp to the maonocaster.Troublesome set up but it works

It looks like a good option. I have the Maonocaster lite but I haven’t had time to tinker with it much. Thanks for the review and I hope the bad phone call wasn’t too bad. Have a great day and be safe out there!

Thank you for the video and the review, great option. Just wanted to be clear in one thing the Podmic does not need phantom (48v) power since its a dynamic microphone, the phantom power should only be used for condenser microphones (such as the audiotechnica AT-2020). Dynamic microphones such as the Rode Podmic, Audiotechnica AT-2040 and Shure SM7B don't need phantom power, some of them (the SM7B) may need a "soundbooster" (it's not the same as phantom power) such as the Cloudlifter but that's it, they don't actually need phantom power.

From the B-Roll she use somekind of attenuator ( cloudlifter / fethead sort of ) thats why she said use phantom power. And yes, Rode Podmic is dynamic and it does not need phantom. Make me wondering, is it because she use attenuator on Podmic so she could achived low noise floor? so she should not need to crank the gain way too high compared without using attenuator

Quick question before I order it (and the mic, both through your link) do I need to order anything else to get both working? Going to plug it straight into my Sony ZVE10, also I live the Godox ML60 you suggested

Dear Sweet Tammy, I was ready to buy Maonocaster Lite after watching your video and now I dont know😂 This one seems great! Anyway, a youtuber told me “the radio mic sound comes really in the compression”: this means that I have to set up the right compression to sounds like a radio when I go live? How can I do that with this device? Thanks 🙏❤️

Hi Tammy, I bought this sound card after I watched your video. I absolutely love it. However when I connect this sound card to my camera, it produced a humming / hiss sound. But if I connect this sound card to an iOS devices like iPhone or iPad, I don’t have this issue. Please advice. I can’t get any support from the Takstar company since they are located in Asia. Greatly appreciate your help..

If you are using 48 volts phantom power on the Podmic I assume you are using a Cloudlifter or similar. Does this device have enough power to drive a Podmic or similar without a cloudlifter? Thanks for the review.
