A note in case u did not get there yet: drones and orbital laser are op, but dont invest too much into them as the basically let you skip late game. I did not see most of late game planets as drones and lasers destroyed them too fast, and late game planets/sun have cool designs. Buuuut.... drones and lasers are hillariously broken, so you probably will want to go for them anyway :D

Getting the core gives you a boost that allows you to drill more effectively. So, if you can get it before you start drilling out the resource that you want, it's better than drilling the resources that you want without having taken out the core first.

Actually that isn't how it works. Destroying the core unlocks the next prestige level. The current planet you're on remains the same, once you're finished you can increase the prestige level for the next planet you try ;)

I saw wanderbots play this so I got it. I beat it in a day and I had so much fun and now Sifd is playing! Once you get the orbital laser things get crazy!

I played through it a couple days ago, it’s fun but gets very very grindy at the end. If you want the last two achievements expect to get bored out of your mind. I’m also not a fan of the UI, it gets very cluttered and you’ll lose track of what you need to do

I will admit, the early game is fun, however. I recommend stopping where this video went off- Semi-spoilers, but you're at the 'peak' of the gameplay loop, where you're having to manage your resources intelligently. Soon you'll unlock the third, fourth and fifth planets for purchase, and begin to prestige your current ones to unlock them, it very quickly devolves into a DPS arms race where it becomes grinding for gems on prestige 10+ to speed up glass + steel + gunpowder crafting for upgrading your passive mining (as they are outright better than the drill, lategame). For reference, Cobalt - one of the most essential resources - can one hit kill you, WITHOUT PRESTIGING IT, with almost maxed stackable armor and maxed drill, but can be almost one-hit destroyed with an upgraded grenade. The game becomes unfun very quickly, as instead of adding new environmental challenges (of which there are only 2), they have merely increased the damage required per block.

once i played this game when it was still in early release, there was technically prestige, but it had an additive effect so it kinda sucked in late run... also you could only pick a planet between prestiges out of 3 still could build orbital cannons to mine out the planet also getting powerups was kinda busted since money collectables were pretty much exponential

Plus Sifd didn't even try looking at specific upgrades like glass for multiple minutes. Not like you can just mine glass on a glass planet..
