Agreed but here he is missing the great importance the search for yield during an epoch of financial repression will have and what that means for DEFI. There is no question about how shitty design choices was made. Furthermore, blockchain can not secure or transfer property rights of assets outside itself. Bitcoin is the only credibly secure asset inside any blockchain. And it's looking like it'll stay that way. Singular blockchain invention, forever.

Can someone please explain to Raul how the ETH unlock works!? There is a line in and a line out. 6 validators per epoch can be activated and 6 per epoch withdrawn. That ends up being around 28k ETH per day unlocked if that many validators choose to do so. Don't forget miners wont be selling on the market anymore once the merge occurs(or at least once they run out of funds, probably not too long after merge for those who intend to dump on the markets). I don't think the market really understands yet what it will mean when we get rid of miners dumping tokens for profit. So bullish

I mostly agree with his thesis, but what Raoul is forgetting is that there is an infinite amount of alts and there will always be better technology tomorrow than there is today, but there will only be 21 million BTC.

@@razorsyntax you've kinda made my point for me. Altcoins are inflationary, since there's no end to them. If a network attracts adoption through their technology, they will be abandoned for a better network later on. I definitely think alts are here to stay, but every network will come and go, while bitcoin continues to serve its role as the highest common denominator.

Raoul Pal, does a decentralized system of value like cripto solve the problem of meeting a societies needs? Here is a question, but first the story. A lawyer for the governor of New York is headed for Manhattan from Queens, and I ask him this question. It's great that you guys finally got legislation done to raise the minimum wage to $15 dollars an hour, but will the price of milk, gas, and tolls go up, because if it does then you have effectively done nothing. He responds and says we are trying to keep prices down, and I looked at him in the eyes, like really. Well prices have gone up since that conversation. In the next few years will be taking about raising the minimum wage to $25 dollars, and the cycle continues, and while cripto is said to be decentralized it's still tied to goods, labor, services, and manufacturing of our debased monetary system. In the end taxes are what pays for a social structure, so how does a decentralized system like cripto cover all of a societies needs?

So an ETH target price of $20K vs $350K for BTC. Based on current prices that makes ETH just over 6X and BTC just under 7.5X. Why sell BTC and put it all in ETH? Am I missing something here?

He said Eth to 20K+ just based on it following Bitcoin's 2017 chart, not including the on-chain analysis. He's said many times in August that he thinks Eth has a better setup than Bitcoin in March 2020 (4k to 64k). Based on that he thinks it could hit 50k+, but I think he knows what a wild number that is and say it outright and be mocked constantly.

Good stream, daily i watch your show a chart with the arcs, I'd like to state here that, almost everyone in the crypto world are aiming for relative growth in this wavy crypto sphere and a lot out there are wondering if now is a good time to buy because of where the price is at right now. I'd say it's out rightly wrong to just sit back Hodl and wait maybe incur some losses along the line, that's a wrong narrative for an investor because as an investor finding ways to always increase and stack up more coins thereby making profit should be the way of life that being said, the market is still all BT C at the moment and. What Raoul Pal doesn’t seem to understand with the Bitcoin v Altcoin argument is that they’re not decentralised. They’re all companies, and that’s fine for some things, but the reason devs on Solano and Ethereum don’t argue with each other is because they’re both centralised entities doing a similar thing.

The thing there's not a universal definition for centralization in the crypto space. One view is what you're saying.Another way to look at it is the number of nodes in the network or the ability for someone to join the netwrok . Bitcoin you can argue has some limits of decentralization as the only way to compete is using the ASIC miners and that needs large capital cost that only people who are already wealthy can join to be profitable . Also ASIC are patented so they have control of how their tech is distributed , etc .

The arguments on Bitcoin v Ethereum are usually coming from vastly different perspectives. I love both, but for different reasons; they are not the same thing, yet too many people think they are in direct competition with one another.
