I remember back when the tek cave was first added I went a bit overkill with the high level rexs I brought in taking the entire army to clear the cave it is such a nostalgic memory tho I lost a lot of rexs to lava

You missed the hardest part of the tek cave. Getting tames to follow properly without getting stuck or going flying into the lava. With Rexes that's way harder than the boss fight. I stressed out far more bringing rexes than I did soloing The Overseer for sure.

Using theris makes crossing the cave much easier.

Change follow distance to 1 or 2 not 3 or more they won't stray from your path much

Exactly my problem, took 18 rexes in, only 1 I rode made it to the end with me. Tried again after breeding up another rex army. None made it.. as soon as I try to get follow they all bunch together and cause mayhem 😢

Fria curry, shadow stakes, fur gear, and fortitude. You can even take an otter and then just cryo it before the overseer fight.

Going to beat the Alpha tek cave in ASA tonight, and after seing this video, i gave in and just summoned me a 150 carch. This makes the cave just so easy, and since i dont have a time limit, i can heal and attack as long as i want :)

@@DaddyRobinx yes, but you have to move your army inside before clearing the cave. Clear the entrance, move everything inside, then clear the rest of the cave with the carchar.

Carchar and giga get a huge health boost when imprinted. Check out when italk about the giga in the second part of my "One Fact about EVERY dino" series. It's the same for the carchar.

When u breed a giga and carch it goes from 17-18k hp to like 34-36k hp

You technically can use cryos in the tek cave, basically go in the door and while its open you can use cryos inside the cave, saves trying to cram everything and getting all your dinos stuck on the door

Even with the door open, I was not able to do that with my settings. I would get a massage "cannot use cryopod in this area."

Shotgun and chest piece can kill the overseer so tek cave can be done armyless

Use rare flowers when clearing the cave to get everything out of the walls and the purlovias out of the ground to be safe since they can one tap you no matter the armor. We used to host overseer boss fights on official pve and thats how we ensured everyone a safe trip through the cave. On official you can use pods at the door to get giggas in and there is a spot in the cave just before the tek door on the hill you can throw pods. Single-player it doesn't work.

@dr.strangey8232 personally, when I used the carchar, even in the tek cave microraptors were 1-2 shot kill, so you have time to kill them. But even if you get dismounted, when you ride big dinos like rex/yuty/carchar, you still stay on their back, you don't drop down, so only dinos with huge aoe can hit you. (Giga)

I need to farm gigas for their hearts, am I able to enter the tek cave to farm them and then to just leave with no trouble or is there no exit once you enter?

The entrance closes after 5 minutes unfortunelty. So you can't farm the hearths and leave without facing the overseer.

I've got a good method in the island boss guide. This video was just to showcase the carchar. Edit: Actually the method is explained in this one, but in that one i use it to enter the cave. Also, use theries instead of rexes since they re way easier to maneuver.

Whats funny is none of this is actually needed because the reality of the entire tek cave and boss fight even on Alpha is you can solo it without any dinos at all. And in a lot of ways it's easier, Just slower.

Parachute grapples for cave. For overseer ur tek gear works again once in arena. A high lvl shotty woth 500 to 1200 shells depending on diffuclty. With an otter while hovering is a free ascension kill. Just slow when solo. But 4 to 5 people it drops fast. Theres ya guide

Very good idea incoming what i did is grab a megalania pump weight and bring as many eggs as you can carry a yuty egg 20 saddles and hatch them at the overseer platform you will need a lot of food and water thougn to survive long enough Edit: the overseer was 20k health and I got dismounted and was flying near the ceiling. I thought I had tek boots on so I fell down towards a rex. I did not have tek boots on 😭😭😭😭

As I mentioned in the video, I was not able to do that on my setting. And you're probably also unable to do that on official settings. If you mess with the settings though you will be able to uncryo in the tek cave.

@@SpartacusSurvives On official PVE you can toss a giga into the entrance using a cryopod (stand just outside door, throw cryopoded giga in); there is also a ledge near the end of the lava area where you can uncryopod tames. So you can clear the cave with giga/carchar, then unpod your boss army. I do not believe this works if PVP mode is enabled.
