Хочу предложить вам похожую идею к вашему кетменю (мотыге). Я бы отрезал штатное гнездо крепления черенка к к лопате, вместо него посадил бы стальной брусок, прорезав в нем прорезь и приварив. Затем в бруске сделал бы три гнезда с резьбой, а на черенок лопаты посадил бы наконечник с резьбой. Теперь лопату можно крепить к черенку в трех позициях : как лопату, как мотыгу (кетмень) и как топор.

Не в обиду, но ваша идея не нова, она похожа на германскую саперную лопату времен первой мировой войны. А я бы добавил еще одну плоскость - топора. для этого надо привернуть черенок с боку, и он превратится в топорище, а лопата в топор.
