The problem with the people who say that Miles Morales isn't spider-man is that they keep acting like spider-man is a character. Spider-man is not a character, spider-man is an identity. Peter Parker is a character, spider-man is an identity he uses. Miguel O'Hara is a character, spider-man is an identity he uses. Aaron Aikman is a character, spider-man is an identity he uses. Hobie Brown is a character, spider-man is an identity he uses and so on and so on. Honestly, I just find the “Miles Morales is not Spider-Man” crowd funny, because that statement is a big part of a lot of his stories. The Main theme of Miles’ character, to me, is expectations. It’s proving to everyone, including himself, that he IS worthy of being Spider-Man. Just read his early comic issues. Literally every superhero and all of Peter Parker’s Loved Ones say at first “You can’t be Spider-Man!” And it’s up to Miles to prove he can and be able to proudly say “Yes, I can be Spider-Man, and I can do it my way!”
