I like the secondary lock So people can stop complaining about button locks Failing.I've only had one out of many ever fail.

Maybe you were lucky to not get 17 stitches across your fingers when it failed. I did. Maybe you got lucky or its simply how you use it. A button lock with a back up is a selling point because knifemakers know they have a record of failing. A long, long record. They've earned the reputation they have.

I also like the button lock with safety. Button locks are awesome for fidgeting & the safety gives extra assurance when you need to do something a little harder.

Love my Holm! I have the satin bolster with the rosewood scales. Looks like a traditional Barlow but very high-tech with the beautifully polished pivot and buttons. Ive never had any button lock fail and i rarely use the lock on mine but it’s a nice feature in that it locks the blade closed as well. Great protection from young ones who might get curious. It’s very well made. Fit and finish is awesome with the shadow box edges all around. Action is amazing. Such a great value❤

Follow up comment on those Rose Craft slip joints.....I just got three in the mail and I'm super impressed. 2 are seconds, and I can't find a thing wrong with the Barlow. The Swayback has a touch of blade wobble, but only because I'm looking for it. The third I got was unblemished tear drop in blue bone....these are all drop dead gorgeous and I paid a little more than $100 for all three including shipping and tax. Fantastic deal. I would say the quality is much better than Rough Riders even with the seconds. The bone scales are beautiful and the fit and finish is fantastic.

I like it, I like the fact that it is not an automatic secondary lock, and you can choose whether or not you want to use it or not

I like it. The rosecraft, too.

At that price, it is surprising. They look really great.

Those slipjoints look pretty nice and well priced. I'm gonna grab a couple of those seconds as I'm on a bit of a slip joint kick lately.

Real steel did this years ago as do off grid knives on their liner locks it’s a good idea

Looks like the Sencut Bronte and the Kizer Klipper had a button-lock baby.

The holm is everything the rosecraft castorea wasn't. The ocoee river jack is one of my favorites, love to see it in stag next. I have the other two as well... I think I'm up to 17 RCTs and 5 RCMs at the moment.
@michaelinsc97242 ай бұрын
Rather than going with 2 locks, I wish they'd have just made a single top liner / compression lock. Less clutter on the handle, strong lock, still have a detent.

I've been thinking about grabbing some Rosecraft knives. Don't like the second lock on the first two. Thanks for the video, Stassa.

All of them are great looking knives, but the bolster on the Arisan is too busy with the buttons. I never looked at Rosecraft before, but will have a look now.

Does the secondary lock on the Hom prevent the knife from opening if the button-lock is pressed unintentionally?

Not a fan of the secondary lock. Seems like they could have went with a top liner lock instead.

This Artisan is not good knife, the blade is ok but the handle with this two buttons which are each next to the other and you can wrong the button you push to close.This knife isn't well designed.
@Stassa23Ай бұрын
@@irenastoyanova2790 i e been carrying mine for a while and I thought the two buttons was going to be a problem for me but not at all I actually love both versions that I have. It has a versatile and Slicey blade and it’s lightweight and for those reasons it’s a winner for me but if you don’t like it it’s ok we all like different things

That first one doesn't have inlays and its a drop point blade, what those fools sayin?

I wish they didn’t use such a garbage blade steel. AR-RPM9 for $75 seems wildly overpriced.
