I will never not be amazed by a full 5 axis machine. The math in the translations, on the fly I might add, is truly mind boggling. I machined 3 axis and 3+2 occasionally before college, and we spoke of full 5 axis like a dream. It's no longer "make chips" but "which part of the tool precisely do you want chips with?"

What do you think of the b axis being able to rotate both directions? You may be able to eak out a bit extra x axis in transformations in the 40-60 deg range if you have more x by the tool changer before you get to a soft limit. Semetrical transformations could have some advantages for some parts too. I run a DMU 90p duoblock which has the same kinematics and that's what i thought of off hand.

the loading and unloading bay should have automatic high preasure high volum spray down before it unlocks the door in order to completely remove all the leftover chips without the operator have to do it ( maybe even a giant fan in the top to flow the leftover coolent away after it have sprayed it down ) at least thats just in my mind btw when are you gonna visit the kitamura factory ? love to see you doing a factory tour of them

There was a cool AvE video where he had built a few custom tools to take advantage of through-spindle coolant and air. tool swap to a crimped piece of copper pipe in a collet. It traced a path around the part first with coolant to blow all the chips away (spinning of course...like any good pressure washer)...then with air to blow all the pockets dry.
@flikflak245 ай бұрын
@@frollard i know. i seen that one. it was just a idea for heller that they could use. that way the machine can clean the part well the spindle in doing work on the next part makeing more money insted of being stuck with cleaning parts ( basicly spindle constantly makes part well load and unlode cell cleans it automatic )

@TheDIMONART5 ай бұрын
Hermle uses monolithic epoxygranite frame base, if something goes wrong and it cracks - it just will be impossible to maintain that, needs new frame base. Heller uses cast iron base, all elements are independent and bolted together. If something broke- just unbolt it and replace with new one.
