Yo Dabidar I have a suggestion for the game you are working on with the really innovative way you made the ocean and ship dynamic. So eventually I suppose that there will be ship combat so I wanted to make a few suggestions that could really add to the innovation that you are bringing to your game. When you are in ship combat each ships should have cannons on both sides of the ships and when you shoot a cannon ball at an enemy ship and it hits the water behind or near the ship it should slow it down which will allow you to catch up to the ship which is realistic. Of course each ship will have a certain amount of hp so you can make the cannon fire do significant damage to the ship and when the ship is low hp it will have smoke and fire coming off of it which will notify the helmsman or enemy pirates that the ship is about to go overboard, you can make a repair hammer tool to repair the ship slowly while at sea which will help players fix up the ship after a battle without needing to rely on going to the nearest island right away after a battle for repairs. My final suggestion is that you make the cannons like a mount and once mounted you can use mouse aim with a decently small cooldown in between each cannon fire. Now the way cannon ammunition works is entirely up to you but I’d suggest making it very rapid fire and quick given that the cannon will be mouse aim, one reason I say this is because a lot of ship PvP here on Roblox lack in this aspect and makes some fights drawn out and boring, ship fights should be high stakes and quick depending on how the fight may go, whether you are on the retreat or fighting head to head with another ship, the battle is ultimately decided when you’ve either been sunken or sank an enemy ship and then you either fight those pirates on the nearest island or drown them out and plunder. Anyways that’s all I have to say, your video is really inspiring and I hope your game turns out to be really great. 👍

its really simple actually, you can use minecraft based chunk rendering and tweens of noise maps which can be merged at the outer layer (the calculations are the hard part)

My recommendation is, you significantly reduce the waves. In my opinion a weather system for storms would fit the best for these waves, however outside of storms It should regardless not have very small waves and in addition occasional medium ones to make It more realistic.

wow this is great i love how realistic it is. what i would recommend however is making the character always stand upright despite being locked to the ship; that's how it is on real ships. if you've seen videos of people in huge storms they tilt back and forth to balance themselves or else they'd fall

you should implement gerstner waves, making vertices at the peaks closer together while the vertices at the bottom of the waves are further apart. Then add some simple foam effects on the peaks and some splashing effects on the side of the boat and top of the waves and it goes from looking good to looking amazing.

the games already looks really good but you should make some things (if it's possible to code) Firstly I'd make features of the boat move like for example the chain and maybe some slight movements in the ribbons in the back that are holding back the barrels I'd also make a wind feature which makes using a boat more of a challenge and fun I'd also add a collision feature (like if a boat hits a rock at a certain speed and angle it gets damaged Also add some ships (mb if u where already planing to do that and make ships have weapons on them hope this helps and I hope to see you more in my fyp and what u have in store cya

When it comes to being the "most realistic", i'd have to inform you pirate ships are massive hunk of material they do not ride waves anywhere nearly as perfect as that, buoyancy is determined by loads of factors in the world (not the virtual world). I work for miami metro wave forensics in bay harbor, we study the frequency and amplitude of sea for crime scene direction analysis via floatables + bodies, and i assist the NOAA as a lieutenant colonel to predict incoming weather catastrophes like storm Sara. Trust me I know my shit.

An idea: This game is kind of like dredge held in the mediaval or pirate times mostly a horror game, You are slave on a pirate ship, ready to be sold. • In the ship you spawn with the people below deck, also slaves, the people above are npcs, after you talk with them and after like 2 minutes you sleep, the screen turns dark and you hear a boom sound, like an iceberg, you wake up in an island with the same ship, however it is broken, The slabe owners sent a message and will probably take 3 days for the rescuers to go, of the rescuers go they will take and unalive or strip you from your newfound freedom, In these days you try and repair the ship before they catch you. An alternative: You are on a fishing trip with your friends when a storm catches, Hearing tales about your boat that it cannot sink you sit back and relax in the cabin, when you wake up you dont see anything near you, black waters and bad weather, as these weathers have battles with your ship, you need to heal the ship or fix, You can fish for food, hunt, dive and more, but beware you aren't alone.
