I seen many tech reviewers say that the ultra is a separate model that is going to releases in a separate event later in 2024. This is the first video I seen saying the pro max is the same as the ultra. The pro max that just releases is pretty much the same size as the last gen.

Think it will be well worth it to go from a 12 Pro to a 15 Pro Max, if you can afford the price tag. Bigger screen, faster wireless charging, more physical storage memory, possibly more RAM, a much newer processing chip, higher quality 120Hz OLED display, always on display, dynamic island, periscope optical zoom lens, 48MP RAW still photo files, lighter and stronger titanium frame, 2,000 NITS screen, USB-C, bigger and better battery performance, and faster data transfer speeds. Will also fix the issue of using an aging battery on a 3 year old phone by getting a brand new phone. Seems like enough new stuff to warrant an upgrade this year.

I get where you're coming from, but I think adding a small screen on the back of the iPhone could actually step on the toes of the Apple Watch. A lot of people get the watch for quick glances at notifications and other info. If the iPhone starts offering that too, it might eat into Apple Watch sales. Watching this video on my iPhone XR .. And he’s like “bruh! I gotch u for another 5 years!” So far 5 years together, traveled around 15 countries, mountains, hiking, skiing, jungles, rivers, waterfalls, beaches, camping, surfing, highest temperatures in the world, extreme humidity, got under water few times, fail on has face +100 times, survived motorcycle accident together. I’m sitting on an 11 Pro. My last iPhone 11 Pro clapped out around this time last year, only 2 weeks inside the warranty period so they gave me a brand new (or maybe refurbished 11 Pro, you wouldn’t know) and it’s still going great to this day, so I really can’t justify the move until this one claps or Apple heads down a path I don’t like with the 16 Pro line up. I’ll keep an eye out on next year’s 16 and maybe I’ll pounce on the 15 Pro ‘Max’ then???

I would wait another year on the Ultra. I agree with you that it should be a separate stand alone line of phone. With its own chassi, a different screen and even a watch face touch on the back like you have in your renders. People won’ mind the price if its truly a unique phone. Even create a new division in Apple to do nothing but the Ultra product line. It can be a way for Apple to leap ahead of the Android platform in a small specialized way. Apple knows what they're doing, though. They stop pro buyers from buying the base model by keeping the refresh rate at 60hz. If I'm going between the 2, I'm choosing 120hz. That's a deal breaker for me. If you haven't used it, you might think it's not a big deal, but once you've had it, you can't go back.

To be honest if it were to be an ultra phone it needs to have the biggest screen kind of like the Apple Watch ultra has the biggest screen. To accomplish this they should come out with a fold out phone like Samsung. I don’t think the iPhone doesn’t deserve the ultra name if they are just going to give us a slightly better camera, battery, and faster processing only. If that’s all they are improving on the phone I’m probably going to save money and get the iPhone 14 pro max because I have a ton of lightning charging cables.

If that $1,300 price tag for the Ultra is true, it's far too high a price to pay, and I would never pay it. This is why I usually buy iPhones a model year behind and then keep them for as long as possible. Those of us on limited budgets cannot afford to do anything else.

If it ends up being called Ultra it will just be a marketing ploy to justify the price tag. Im not the least bit excited for the Iphone 15 lineup. You have 2 iphone 15s that will be watered down 14pro models, same chipset, one of the camera modules, & gets dynamic island. I can see UsB C being there main focus, focusing on the bezels being a little bit smaller, saying its the best camera on Iphone ever! Its pretty astounding how we have been getting the same iphone line up since 2020. The only difference now will be a price increase. If the iphone 13 was called the 12S. Then the 14 line was called the 13 line. It might really help apple to go back to a different naming scheme. I do find it pretty amazing how they reel people in with the most minimal new improvements. The last time we had actual design changes & features added was 2016-2017. We had the iPhone 7 to 8 which we saw a dramatic design change and the biggest camera leap, at the same time with the iphone X. We then had the glass rounded devices from 8,8plus,X,XS,XR,11 & then switched back to flat edges with all olded panels on iPhone 12. We have only seen magsafe, 5G, more screen brightness, faster charging, esim & gps calling, the notch become more intrusive & very minimal ios updates, very minimal battery & camera improvements. This will be the 4th variant and hopefully final one to move on from this design. The Iphone XS had oled displays, the 11 took it away but the 11pros had oled displays. 😂 To then used oled as a feature on all the 12s like it was new lol. But we had it since the X in 2017. The Iphone 11 was a mix of the XR design, & the 11pros where the start of the pro line. Where it actually had vast differences from the 11 making it superior. Now an Iphone 13s are so similar to the 14 I consider it a downgrade as the esim is huge blow to cell service. The iphone 14pro line & 15 Pro needs to have exclusive features in Ios 17. They need live wallpapers again, especially for an always on display. They need to add more camera functions. They need to add landscape mode back. They need themes on all ios devices. They need improved service.

I have 12 pro max and my brother has 14 pro max. My battery life is still really good and also I use his and my phone cameras for shooting but 12 pro max’s camera quality is way better imo. I didn't ask for this recommended video. Yall need to switch to Samsung S23 Ultra. Can do HDMI out for screen mirroring or connect for Dex and get a full blown desktop os. I can connect a usb thumbdrive to the Galaxy or even a hardwire network adapter. Android can do multiple windows that are overlayed or side by side, the multitasking is insane. Also 200MP. (1) ULTRA is NOT 5x or 6x optical! If it’s not 10x optical variable periscope lens with Sony IMX 903 sensor for excellent low light & back lit results, then I’ll NOT be buying an Apple iPhone this year. (2) For the higher cost of ULTRA I’ll also expect more top notch technology that has previously leaked for iPhone 15 ULTRA: (a) 8k video which means (b) 8GB memory, (c) stereo speakers, (d) capability for 3D photographs & 3D Video possibility (w/Dolby?) What is cost to upgrade to 1TB or 2TB storage?

Change (2)c from stereo speakers to Allow 2 or more apps to run simultaneously in different partitions, and insert (2)d the new Sony ULTRA Wide 48MB lens to replace the existing 12 MB Ultra Wide lens and then insert (2)e stereo speakers … and then add (2)f add 3D photographs and (2)g 3D video if possible. Now, that would make it an real ULTRA head & shoulders above competition and you add a another $100 to $200 dollars to the purchase price of “their” New iPhone 15 ULTRA and people would be pleased to pay the extra amount & accept a later delivery of for if needed! Think about it! Competition would lose their lead over night & never be able to catch up! You still have the 300mm periscope lens camera for the 2016 iPhone plus whatever you still are planning to put into the IPhone 16 Ultra.

I forgot to mention: The Camera periscope lens should have variable zoom with 10x optical & 50x Digital all with image stabilization & pro motion

You have info in this video I haven't seen before! IPhone 14 Pro Max's tiny 3X zoom has a 12mp sensor, not in the same class as the Galaxy s-Ultras with 10X though only a 10mp sensor. If the iPhone 15 Ultra has a 6X zoom but a 16mp sensor, which you report here, then it's getting close to the Galaxies!

Its probably only going to get between 30x zoom or 60x zoom... Since Apple doesnt like zoom

I take photos of my kids on stage during chorus, foxes running through the woods behind my house and deer locking horns, dramatic cloud formations in the distance, Moon photos and much more with my 10X optical zoom on a Galaxy phone. So Apple's prejudice against such photo is--well--near-sighted! But with a 6X zoom but with a larger sensor on a 1Phone 15 Ultra, I could enlarge photos and keep quality, perhaps not equal to Galaxy zoom shots but in the neighborhood.

@@Xcrv As I say, disappointing. But if Apple adds a much better sensor, one could get a lot more clarity enlarging and cropping a 30X.Maybe most iPhone users just don't care as much about zooms compared to Android users.
