Europe is far more expensive than Middle East. But then you also earn far more than you do in Middle east. On top of that as a bonus, the Europeans do not call you MISKEEN, the Arabs do. And even after thirty years of working in Middle East, you do not get residence visa. In Europe in less than ten years, you get the citizenship. Compared to Middle East, European countries are heaven.

When traveling from Mecca to Medina by train, it's important to adhere to the luggage dimensions specified on your tickets to avoid hefty charges and delays in receiving your checked-in luggage. I learned this the hard way, as I was charged 179 Riyals for 3 suitcases, and my luggage arrived at the railway station as late as 12 at night. Additionally, keep in mind that taking a taxi from Mecca to Medina may be a more convenient option, as suggested by my taxi driver. Many passengers at the baggage collection area were frustrated due to delayed luggage delivery, so plan your journey accordingly to minimize inconveniences.

@@Comics-Times my parents are going to Madina tomorrow and for Madina to Makkah i have booked haramain train for them. They have packed 2 travel bags of 25 kgs and one 2 wheeler handcarry. I am not sure if the 2 wheeler handcarry is equivalent to the handbag mentioned on the website’s luggage requirements.

The train station was empty because it's so expensive. You can travel in much less price in a bus or a taxi and you won't even have to wait for your luggage. We used to enjoy the road trips when my dad used to work in Saudi.

I remember my family and I drove from Mecca to Madinah 33 years ago! It took us 12 hours cos the driving speed limit was 40 mph. If we tried to go above 40 mph a bell starting ringing which was most irritating. We did not see the reason for such a speed restriction since there was hardly any traffic. There weren't that many cars in Saudi Arabia in those days.

I was there month ago, so one thing regarding the large luggage bag. If you guys gave it to the porter they would’ve cleared the luggage without any issue and they drop it directly to your cabin for a very low fee. Just in case for the future trip now you know😊

Where r those porter staying at the gate or inside station we need this info coz we r 4 n have 4 over sized luggage.

@ishakmony their outside the station waiting for taxis to drop people off. They'll put your lugagge on the trolley and take you to the kiosk to pay 30 riyals. After that while your scanning your QR code to go through the barriers they take the trolly up through the lift to where the gate for the train is. Once boarding opens they will take your lugagges and put it into you booked cabin within the trolly slots. And they do also expect a tip just FYI.
