These people clearly have unresolved issues, you will find if you scratch the surface they will have many skeletons in their own closet. This is not normal behaviour, they are unhinged, unstable and deeply unhappy with where they are at in their own lives. They take pleasure in projecting their own issues on to others. I wouldn't be surprised if you could obtain a harassment order against them if this occurs again. They are deliberately chasing after you (if it happens again) it will be multiple times. You did nothing wrong.
